Hurrah! After so long I have now had outgoing transaction notifications on my joint account for 2 days in a row!! If I get a notice for incoming and it continues to work next month, we'll be back to five stars. Usually works well but recent issues. I no longer receive transaction push notifications. I did chat with support, which advised a number of customers have reported the issue and that it might be because the software team has changed something. Great. Can we get it back asap, please?

Notifications are none existent, even when you have them all turned on. Very concerning not having notifications when money is leaving your account. Very basic layout. You should be seeing all your transactions first thing, not a list of functions. Why does it take so long to open the banking app? You should be asked for your passcode to transfer money out. A little extra step of protection would be welcome. This app needs a lot of work to function more efficiently.

The camera keeps failing or not opening when trying to complete registerion. Edit in response to HSBC feedback. I'm using android 13, and I'd be highly surprised on the majority of people rating 1 star not having updated their android/operating system in the last 4-5 years. Maybe someone might want to actually look into the issue.....

The app used to work perfectly, I was always able to do anything I needed. Which saved visiting a branch (when most are now closed!!!) Now the deposit cheque function crashes repeatedly and times out. It's completely unusable. Please fix this as my "local" branches is not at all local and very inconvenient to get to!!

Very slow... I don't understand why the ratings are so high for this terribly slow app. The app hasn't seen any significant changes/updates in years. It takes a long time to open, and a long time to process your finger print/login info. For comparisson, I can open the Starling Bank app and be logged in within about 5 seconds. The HSBC app always takes atleast 30secs.

Awful, every time it updates it logs me out and no longer recognises my phone number to send an activation code to. Happened twice and completely unable to access banking online as the app acts as secure key too, but you can't open it without the activation code. Should have the ability to request the code is emailed rather than texted, as this is how I was able to get access back in the past. As it is I have to wait days for someone to look into a problem I know how to fix, very frustrating.

Any progress on updating the app? It's only possible to pay in a cheque by reinstalling the app each time on Pixel 6. Take an image, select use, the screen flickers, goes black, then shows a bigger, shifted, image (from what might be a different lens). It then goes into a loop where it wants to retake the photo. After a couple of black screens and error messages, the app reboots. I've cleared the cache, checked for app and system updates to no effect.

Update. Super fast response from HSBC Facebook chat helped reinstalling, UNP and OTP by SMS and setting up new PIN resolved. Worked fine over the last couple of years but now opens splash screen, then crashes. Chat support is useless as it tells you to chat in mobile app. Browser login is useless as uses a code from the mobile app. Web Help is useless as it does not cover what to do if app is crashing and you cannot get to chat support for such issues. Reinstall seems to be the only next step!

Unreliable. Fails 90% of the time. Used to work perfectly but not since the November update. I am running the latest Android version. Finally accessed my account after 19 attempts with the app crashing. At some point HSBC need to ask themselves. Is it us or everybody else? If the app isn't fixed I will change banks after 38 years.

Very slow for the logo splash screen to clear, and there's a puzzling pause before the last digit of the login PIN registers, but once in seems to be rock steady. It would be nice to be able to opt out of the annoying ads and marketing gumf 'for you', as they clutter up limited space and detract from the incessant warnings about this or that scam. I was a bit sceptical, but now a convert. Android 12 btw.
