I'm incredibly thankful to the K-9 and Thunderbird team for bringing this application to the masses. With every other app dead set on shoving AI and data collection down our throats, here y'all are providing a modern yet down to earth mail client. Thank y'all. P.S. To anyone reading this, I urge y'all to donate to Thunderbird. Otherwise, they'll have to find other ways to support the development. Ways that could require they add in less than desirable functionality.

2025-Jan: better at sync between desktop and phone, but still needs work. Good first step. Going back to K9Mail for now since I can't get the android and desktop apps to sync with each other and don't have time to plow through the trouble ticket list to see if there's a fix. Will check back in a few months. Look forward to eventually converting to "just Thunderbird" but for now I need a solution that just works, and that's Windows Thunderbird and Android K9Mail.
