2025-01-14 | I genuinely enjoy this app, from my experience it's the best Music Player App for someone like me. I have a lot of music tracks (~5600 and counting) and the features it includes helps sort them out easily. I also enjoy the Gapless Playback feature, however it's for this reason I'm rating it the way that I am. There was an update that claimed to fix a random pausing issue with it for Pixel users however it's still present unfortunately. (This only occured once I updated to Android 15 recently)
2025-01-03 | Pulsar does great! at the main task: playing the tracks in a playlist. It does pretty well at the ancillary task of displaying album-art: changing art seems a little more difficult than I'd prefer; but seldom necessary. A recent convert due to my music app of many years suddenly frequently malfunctioning. Not all bad: Pulsar sounds better! My most recent tracklist has >55,000 entries. Many apps I tried could not accommodate that at all. Others didn't do a plain-text tracklist at all.
2024-12-17 | This is one of the best, most feature rich Android music players. I love the fact this has built in controls for speeding up and slowing down music, and even changing the pitch. It's snappy, the shuffle actually is a true shuffle (I'm looking at you, youtube music 😑) and it was so good that I went and got the paid version for the silly custom stuff.
2024-12-16 | Had the app for years. Love it. Does everything your music player should do. UPDATE - 12/15/24 Although I love the player, it has not kept up with technology. I own Somos speakers and the fact that I can't cast unto those speakers is a major crutch to this otherwise excellent player. Also, no AI innovations like an AI DJ. It's just antiquated by today's standards. It's a shame because it's solid otherwise.
2024-12-07 | Now that I've used it sad to always have to enlarge the player. Won't open directly to the player. 😕 And, no WMA support. Otherwise, beautiful to look at. Really stands out from the others. I have a Pixel Fold and love the huge album covers! Being a minimalist this app speaks to me. I just wish there was a way to HIDE THE MENU ITEMS THAT OVERLAY THE ALBUM COVERS and to hide the status bar at the top (clock, signal, battery, etc.). I purchased within 5 minutes because it is so fantastic looking.
2024-12-06 | This app struggles mightily with album art and artist photos. Has trouble downloading them from the internet to begin with then every time you open it it slooooowly reloads them as if it's redownloading them again. If you don't care about artwork it works fairly well; if you do it's useless.
2024-11-14 | Use to be perfect until a few updates ago. Now when playing over Bluetooth, be it my car stereo or any of my 3 pairs of earbuds, the player will go silent after playing the first song. I have to ship to the next track or fast forward the "silent" track to get sound to play again. Pain in the butt while driving, and renders this useless for when I want to fall asleep to music. Hopefully this gets fixed I'm an update. I will update my review the minute it's fixed.
2024-11-13 | Recently, I purchased Pulsar Pro, because Poweramp won't cast to my speaker and bluetooth skips. However, while Pulsar will cast to my speaker and play bluetooth uninterrupted, I am having a difficult time enabling the lyrics function. In addition, all my album/cover artwork will not automatically download. When I try to download them manually, I get error messages. Occasionally, if I keep trying, artwork will download. When I attempt to delete, for example, playlists, the app won't delete them.
2024-11-05 | this app used to be great..but newer version weaker than old app..combination of different android and different app is problem..it also saves your data somewhat..cannot get rid of unless factory reset..uninstalling the app does not get rid of data..I used to be able to turn off phone and turn back on and have same song ready to play..that not work anymore..it's a shame
2024-11-02 | I use this with android auto to play my MP-3 files stored on my phone. It organizes my files and it's easy to make playlists. But it or android auto and Alpine car radio are full of glitches. It isn't self starting , once you get a playlist or album to play it just stops the sound. The screen on car radio shows music playing but it is now muted. Restart radio and it plays again. Then today two separate songs were playing at the same time? Very frustrated. Googles music player never did this. |
