great game and implementation. they added a new feature to skip the replay when you are in an asynchronous game. this was a request from the community and they actually implemented it. I am very impressed that they actually improved the app based on feedback. it seems like everyone else is following the enshittification trend and just leave bad things in their apps or ignore the user base. the expansion will be coming out soon and ill buy it, if not to just support them.

Well first off, this is my favorite board game of all time already. But this app as far as board game implementations go is one of the best there is. It just recently added the most current factions so now you have access to all 10 and adset. This app is a great way to learn, more frequently play, and get better at root. There are bugs at times but nothing direwolf doesn't work hard to fix. If you have been curious about Root and most of what it entails, I encourage you to start here.

This is my favorite board game. The physical game and the app are both very well-thought out, just like the game itself. Tons of fun! If you like strategy, this game has something for every type of play style. I also appreciate how the app guides you through the rules as needed, has tons of built-in variations and challenges, and lets you save a game for later. You can even play online! I love this.

Wonderful game and good implementation of the rules as far as I can tell, but the *glaring* issue is that the multiplayer is quite barebones, and the overwhelmingly awful thing is that games I try to make for my friends keep disappearing from the list before we can get them started, making trying to actually play the game we all paid for an exercise in frustration.

One of the best, most enjoyable, entertaining, and replayable strategy games out there. Anthropomorphized medieval woodland creatures at war over control of the forest---also one of the best settings for a game. Root digital does have a few bugs, but a lot was fixed in the most recent patch so they're now mostly with the Automated Factions, and thus, rather negligible. I highly recommend the physical boardgame as superior, but Root digital is well worth several hundred hours of your time.

One of the best digital adaptations of a board game. The tutorials are great for teaching Root, and I have spent way too many hours on multiplayer when I should have been doing other stuff. Sadly, the app is a bit buggy. Notably, the game sometimes freezes during AI's turn after a player resigns. And the devs are slow to add content from new Root expansions. But overall, I have had a great experience with Root Digital (and Root in general). It's so fun!

God bless I love this game. It took me awhile to learn. Frankly, I had to watch a tutorial on YouTube even the tutorial didn't seem efficient. Asymmetrical board games are weird. But it's well worth learning. It's so much fun, and it's so much more convenient when the computer takes care of all the tokens and card drawing and all that jazz so you don't have to. I will say tho, I may just buy the actual board game now because I actually love this game and it's expansions. Well worth the buy.

The game is great and the animations are nice. It makes it much easier to understand and play the board game, HOWEVER the app needs a lot of work. On foldable phones (OnePlus Open) all the UI overlaps when on the main screen. The setting have an option to change the UI scale, which funny enough doesn't work. You change the settings, click save, and then it reverts back to the large UI. Would change to a 5 star if I could play the game on my main display.

A really great digital implementation of the board game. A bit on the spendy side with all the expansion content added in. Compared to other digital board games. But these guys have put a lot of work into making this look and work great. If you're a Root fan you won't be disappointed. Hopefully they have plans to add the Marauder and Hireling expansions soon. If I could suggest one thing to add to the current game it would be a speed up option for the computer player turns.

Lovely graphics. Wonderful board game. We play asynch mostly, and it's not working for us. 1) Game session management. It's several taps and some scrolling to find the game. 2) After rejoining, we have to watch all the moves (+ undos & redos) that everybody has taken since the last move. When I've rejoined 2+ times just to see if someone has taken their turn yet, it's annoying. 3) DLC doesn't work with family library. $$$ Take note from Race for the Galaxy. Two taps and we're back in ~3sec
