2025-01-06 | *Edit* After paying the money so I could avoid ads and take the tests I'm convinced they never actually tried running the code in this app. So many mistakes I couldn't run some of the code. 3 stars. I would like to give this app 5 stars. It's easy to follow and explains the concepts well. There are a number of mistakes in the example code. I then have to try to figure out where the mistake is and correct it. I would be willing to pay $20 to learn but not when there are so many mistakes.
2024-11-30 | Immediately purchased premium as I have mad respect for any company that makes learning free and accessible. Having fun and the information isn't presented in an overwhelming way. My only complaint is that I couldn't find a setting to turn on closed captions for videos, which isn't terrible because everything that is covered in the videos is also written verbatim.
2024-11-14 | Apparently all content after the first two lessons is premium content, so it's 60 second ads after every short lesson (some of them being shorter than the ads) or forking over $20 for lifetime access, which apparently costs $375 normally. Whether that was the real price at some point or they're just faking a spectacular deal, that price being suggested at all is quite disgusting and makes me immediately lose respect for the app devs. $20 is fine for what the app offers, $375 is not.
2024-11-06 | I did the first few parts of the course, it stopped wanting to load at the decision making part in the, nested if part. At the end of that part it just showed a gray screen. The only upside of this is that I can randomly click on the next topic and I basicly learned what I needed to also. Another complaint is that there isn't that many projects that they have us do. I learned it but haven't gotten projects to get practice and apply it.
2024-10-14 | Great course. Was an amazing feeling of accomplishment to be able to print out my Certificate and add it to my collection of certs. The courses are easy to follow and progressively increase ones understanding of the language. The projects included throughout the course are fun and help to apply what you've learned. I personally loved the GUI project towards the end. Looking forward to further mastering this language and building my portfolio.
2024-10-08 | Got to the second intro course only to not be able to progress due to ads not loading. Sorry, I'm not waiting 20 seconds several times just to not be allowed to progress and I'm not going to bother with this when even Harvard has a free Python course that isn't adlocked. Edit: Nice automated response, but I'm not reinstalling this. Good luck. Edit 2: No thank you :)
2024-10-01 | Might be a really good app but before every 5 minute long course you have to watch a 30 second ad, starting from the third course. That just kills all motivation. I have not seen and gained enough from this app to feel like it is worth the subscription and I will not give it a chance
2024-08-28 | Would give 5 stars but the app won't allow me to pass 3rd chapter in introduction section. It says I can watch an ad to unlock pro but that option doesn't work however if I pick the purchase to unlock button on the same screen that option works. It feels like I'm being manipulated into purchasing the full app but give the illusion you can try for "free" When in reality you can't. Very unfortunate because it felt easy to understand and was enjoyable to learn
2024-07-29 | Daily discounted premium notifications made me uninstall. I did 1 or 2 lessons a month or so ago, but haven't had time to do more, though I loved at first sight & wanted to upgrade prematurely b/c it looked effective, plus the discount. My finances are bad right now so $10 isn't manageable atm but I was hoping to upgrade soon. Turning off the notifications in-app didn't work. Design is beautiful & unintimidating but damn, stop the assault notifications. I'll never use this again out of spite.
2024-07-25 | For the most part it's informative about Python and puts together a good guide. There are a lot of bugs, spelling mistakes, wrong answers to questions, and technical mistakes. A hard-drive which is a non-volitile Read-Write drive is NOT Read-Only Memory (ROM). A ROM is like a CMOS/BIOS chip for a computer. You can read from it but you can't write to it. It's called Firmware because for the most part it's Read-Only but you can "flash" it and overwrite the software on it. |
