2025-01-25 | I have used and enjoyed SpeedTest for quite a long time now, but they now have combined Downdetector into SpeedTest and we have lost functions of Down Detector. You can now only save 3 favorites. I hope they change it to allow saving more favorites. After more review, the Downdetector portion of Speedtest has lost many more features like map of area reporting the outage. I hope they include all the features of Downdetector app into the SpeedTest app. It is almost useless now.
2025-01-22 | It's good, but wish I could add more than 3 favorites to Down detector like I had with the actual app. I could at least know when more of my favorites being down quicker than scrolling through the entire list. I get that the one having trouble will be at the top, but can you by chance make it where we can add more than 3? Is there a subscription to do in order to do more than 3 favorites?
2025-01-21 | This is a great app. All their features are free to use, and easy to understand. The adds do not affect the user experience, but are still easily visible to users! The paid version of the app offers advanced features for a low price. The VPN is secure and free for 2GB, which is great! A paid version is available with unlimited usage, and it's way cheaper than mainstream VPNs. Great app, well done developers!
2025-01-06 | I absolutely love this app because it has several usefal functions outside of showing you how fast your internet connection is, it has a map showing you where you can get the best cell service, it has downdetector built-in, and it has a video tester which shows you what the highest resolution your internet can handle. there is one bad thing about it though, it uses lots of data which for me and my 15gbs of data, is a problem. overall its a good app with one main issue.
2024-12-20 | I've been using Speedtest for....as long as they've existed? ...A really long time. I consider them the gold standard by which all other testing services can be measured. I love that they've bundled in some other useful features like the VPN....handy for those times when I need to connect to a public network. Having DownDetector onboard is also a huge plus. We love Speedtest!
2024-12-05 | speed test has always been good, but it always amazes me how it keeps getting better, from its original function to give, download and upload speeds, it now gives extremely accurate mapping and a whole bunch of other wonderful features! I write this from a relatively isolated rural area of Hawaii.
2024-10-21 | I am unable to find many (coverage map) of the stated features. 'Help' tells me about the map but not how to get to it. The only map available shows where I am and the location of the connection. Useless. Moreover, the history available on my computer (chrome/Firefox on linux) shows only the 2010 results rather than more recent history. Really disappointed because I've been happy with this app for over a decade. PLUS there is no way to contact the developers on the desktop link.
2024-08-24 | I use this app frequently to check my download speeds. It has always seemed accurate, never exceeding what I know my system is capable of, but definitely shows me when it slows down. It also has some other features that allow you to test and track activity levels of other networks and apps. I have been using it regularly for almost 7 years now.
2024-08-13 | Works great for getting an idea of internet performance. Downdetector is nice, but only allowing users to have three favorites is annoying. There are so many frequently used applications that may need checked at any given time, and being able to have more than three of them easily accessible at the top would be more convenient.
2024-05-28 | This is the app to use to test your speed, the standard of the industry. I have been using it for about 10 years, and it always tells me the truth about my connection. other applications and sites use their own networks so you do not get a true reading of the speeds that your ISP is actually providing for you. using Speedtest you may select the source and the destination which allows you to get a true reading of what your ISP is actually giving to you. |
