2025-01-30 | I'm unsure what happened in the latest update, but if I need to scroll on a page with my keyboard open, I can no longer scroll to see the bottom with it, meaning large parts of text boxes can be blocked from view when I have my keyboard open, including ones I am typing in. It's inconvenient when I'm typing a lot of text and I can't see it. I can use the same websites where this is an issue on the main Firefox app and it doesn't happen, so it's this beta version specifically.
2025-01-24 | Why were the forward and back buttons removed in the latest update? And still no long pressing the back Nav Button for the history drop down menu, an old feature that was removed? Now the only way to do so is by additionally pressing the 3 dot menu, then long pressing either, which is very unintuitive. Why on earth would you complicate a needed basic feature? Bring it back or let us customize it, for gods sake. Now I'll think twice before updating Firefox... This would've had more expletives
2025-01-15 | It's a fantastic browser, aside from the new, useless menu bar they added to the bottom of screen, which takes up to much space and can't easily be turned off. To turn it off, go to Settings → About Firefox Beta and tap the logo 5 times to enable the debug menu. Then, go back and select "Nimbus Experiments," then select "Combined Android Toolbar and Menu Experiment," pick "control" and then restart the browser. This will restore the old address bar for now. 5★ if they revert this change
2024-12-13 | If you have any image open in a single tab. You get a white bar on the bottom or top , depending on where is your address bar. Basically full screen browsing is impossible. Edit 2024 : one star now. Before we had a single bar with address and tabs and settings. Now its two bars one in top with address and one on the bottom with the tabs and settings.... And no way to change it back to 1. Who decided this? Why can't we just keep it simple with one bar instead of two ??
2024-09-05 | Speed is much better than the old version, but room for improvement. I like collections, but they don't sync. Visual tab representation has gotten much better in July '20 release. Still needs more add-ons (more are coming), URL bar should stay at the bottom when selected, and Top Sites/Collections links should be editable (at least the name). In addition, it would be nice to easily access Top Sites/Collections in private mode.
2024-08-12 | Absolutely Golden. 1 flaw IMO, I suggest immediately after download, open settings, SCROLL DOWN and turn off the option regarding data & privacy called (STUDIES) the app keeps, sells, or shares data by default.(I THINK) so, IMO. Disable studies, then a window pops up and says to turn this off, you must quit the app. It's fine. Do it. Hit continue. As soon as you do, simply re open the app, and you are now tracker free after 1, 2 more adjustments, that is. Besides that lil flaw. App is GOLD
2023-10-20 | Better features than stable, and doesn't seem particularly unstable, but still room for improvement. More extensions is nice. Importing settings from stable or nightly could be easier, and Send Tab(s) to Device fails almost every time. Can't rule out network trouble, but I'd hope it would try again and recover gracefully in a minute. Still a few websites fail to run properly, sometimes there are infinite captchas, but I suspect this is more due to devs not testing on Firefox :(
2023-07-03 | I loved it-used AndroidBeta forever for everything. But updating caused the bug that many others have. I'm unable to search or link to ANY websites. Have regular Firefox on my laptop but it doesn't sync with Beta where a vast amount is stored & sorted. So far the only suggested fix is reinstall; I'd lose it all I'm holding off to see if they come up with a more humane fix. Meanwhile, I copy and paste URLs into chrome, which works. Firefox certainly is a private browser. NO ONE can see it. Boo
2022-12-23 | Just as a reminder to anyone who doesn't understand what a beta is: it's a TEST build. It's not meant to be entirely trusted to be completely stable. Keep that in mind and download the non-beta if your having THAT many issues. In my case I've not had any unusual issues with the beta builds. Happy with most of the changes that have been made since major updates. Always innovative and trying new things. The extension support has expanded greatly! Recommend if you tire of default options.
2021-11-30 | Love the app! The only issue is that it sometimes (very rarely) crashes. The sites are saved, but it can be inconvenient to happen; though I understand it that this happens because this is the Beta. Otherwise, I love that it allows for very useful extensions. If I could I'd give 4.5/5 stars. Highly reccommended. |
