2025-01-23 | I took the online IT comptia course from Google. Being that it was from Google, I had high expectations. Especially in new learning methods. I was highly disappointed during the actual lectures to find out that this is your typical reading out of a book or teleprompter with zero conviction on the material. The networking segment was the worst by far, everything else was comparable to other courses I took in the past. However, this networking segment was the worst of any subject ever
2024-10-28 | I'm enjoying learning about data analysis more then I thought I would! I was interested in a career change and was just exploring this as an option but it's really keeping my attention. I am starting to visualize the beginning of my data analysis career. what kind of visualization tool should I use to show that? hahaha
2024-10-22 | It's an excellent app for the most part. The only problem that I'm having is when temporarily switching to another app, Coursera refreshes to the top of the current page I'm viewing, causing me to constantly lose my reading position. It's the only app that refreshes like this. I could leave it for a second and it'll still refresh to the top of the current page when I return to it.
2024-10-06 | The templates no longer allow download on my mobile device without unsuccessfully trying to use Google Docs as default app. The templates just close each other out and I can't save them to my device to use them. It would also be great for the app to read allowed with me while I'm doing reading assignments. It's hits 2 senses at once to help retain the information presented.
2024-08-18 | Don't bother, just get books on the subject unless it is not a "peer graded course." Tried a few of the free classes, that are all peer graded. There are bots that just come though and grade everything as 0 scores so you can't ever get a passing grade. Even within the forums for those classes there are complaints about this spanning a year of more, and they have no intrest in showing why people should be paying for the certificate upgrade as even when you pay, you can get the same result.
2024-08-10 | I prefer the website (on my phone). I have to go back to the search nav to find actual course info. Including the course Info under the Info tab would be more useful than just listing the instructor(s) and the description. The website lists estimated hours with a time syllabus, that's more useful. The individual videos are listed timed, but we'd have to add up every video in the modules one by one to the video times for the full modules.
2024-07-17 | I have really enjoyed learning on Coursera. Their customer service is a completely different story. I was double charged for a service for over a year. Trying to get a refund is an actual nightmare. The platform is great for learning. Just make sure you check your subscriptions regularly, or you will get to live this nightmare with me.
2024-07-07 | Word of warning for those considering Coursera--they DO NOT have HUMAN customer support. If you run into a technical glitch and lose access to all the coursework you've spent many hours/days/weeks completing, the best you will receive is "Please review our 'most common answers' to problems". PATHETIC!! This also applies to lesson problems, subscription issues and overcharges/never-ending billing. It's an unacceptable, ridiculous failure to address student problems. Otherwise, good platform.
2024-06-17 | Been having some issues with casting from my device. The app USED to follow along with the spoken words, however lately it doesn't do it anymore (which is what brought me back here to see if I needed to update.... I don't). It also doesn't give me the option to remove close captions. It ALSO doesn't allow me to change to video speed, which is useful for certain teacher's dialects.
2024-06-09 | I love the courses' structure and material. They are extremely easy to follow and they don't overload you with too much material at once. I wish there were even more courses available because it has been very helpful so far with the courses I have taken. The mobile app is great for learning in the go and not having to be tied down to a computer. |
