2024-12-08 | I've used speech assistant for years. While I'm sad that this has fallen behind uts iOS counterpart it's still a very functional app. However, what would be nice if a desktop emulation environment that could be used to build boards. Building custom boards is really the hardest party of using this, and while typing is possible and great having phrases ready at hand is pretty useful. I tried editing a backup file but that was very confusing.
2024-11-19 | Lost my voice thanks to going to too many loud gigs and this has been a lifesaver - the saved phrases and the ability to add your own are really useful, love the ability to slow down or speed up speech and being able to type whatever you want is great too!
2024-11-03 | Nice! I like the preset phrases and the fact that we can save our own phrases so we don't have to retype them. I also like that we have actual control of the voice speed. This will work great for me as I have a case of laryngitis at the moment. So, thanks!
2024-10-19 | Honestly great for a free app. I couldn't talk for months after damaging my vocal cords and it was a great help getting to communicate out loud for my mental health. I could get help in a store, save questions for later that I could ask my doctor during an appointment, "yell" for help, or just communicate while riding a car. I still use it when it's easier to be non-verbal from everyday autism stuff. It's not perfect and bad at a few names, but the learning curve is reasonable and it helps ♡
2024-10-16 | I purchased the app, but nobody I have called can hear. The settings don't have the sound output option shown in the manual. "Mix speech into phone calls: The synthesized speech will be mixed into your phone calls and will be audible for the receiver (not on your device)." Resolve this, please. The app looks promising.
2024-07-20 | This app is really great for those with speech impairments, and I like that. I'm autistic and often shut down verbally, and this app has been a really great help with getting the words that I wanna say out should I be in a verbal shutdown, and it's been especially helpful in school (where I shut down the most). My only complaint is that a lot of the customization features are behind a paywall, but I understand why that would be necessary.
2023-12-30 | The app is very good and easy to use, even in its limited free version. It's a great primarily text based aac, but i think two things should be changed. - Add a dark mode option to free users. I would say dark gray white text is a good alternative to the default button colors and dark mode for settings should be available too. - For paid users, even more custom colors for the personalized palette would be VERY appreciated. I want to make a purple layout. Hex code entering or smth.
2023-11-08 | Seems like a very good app from my little usage of it so far. My main problem with it is that I am very photosensitive and the dark mode not being accessible for free really hurts. I was trying to test the app out but it being so bright made my migraine I've been fighting all day return! Please consider this is very common in autistic people who need this kind of app. Would be very nice if you could add this feature, it's a pretty basic accessibility option that shouldn't be paywalled.
2023-11-04 | This looks awesome, I am currently sick and keep losing my voice and my dad just got hurt and was brought to the hospital. This app is helping put less strain on my vocal cords and so I'm not coughing Also lets me give quick responses that I can copy and text Like yes, no, Could you repeat what you said. Thank you for making this app! Edit: Awesome can edit pre-existing phrases so instead of "it is" it now says "it's" or "thanks" verses "thank you" I like being more formal when thanking someone.
2023-08-15 | I'm an AAC user with a brain injury, I am grateful it's so intuitive. I just barely downloaded it, & can use it. When customizing, if I could add more than 1 category to a phrase, it would really help. E.g when I modified "My address is_______)" it saved in "common" but did not in "Home." I need to either edit phrase again in "Home" or remember where I hid phrases. Issue for memory/concentration. Can this app use voicekeeper voices? If I can add multiple labels & use my voicekeeper, SOLD! |
