I've tried a ton of players and this is, overall, the best. The Smart playlist feature is unique and very powerful. Want to only play 11 songs from a specific genre that haven't been been played in 30 days? You can do that, (and other, more complicated things) with the Smart playlist. It is easy to set up and extremely powerful.

There is no viable alternative if you are in the market for a tablet music player app. Other players lack an equivalent for the wonderful split screen landscape UI, and refuse to add it to their feature set. Why would you want to waste vast real estate with gigantic buttons or blank space (which forces you to toggle back and forth between now playing and queue screens), when you could have everything displayed neatly in one screen? This feature alone is alread worth it.

The app randomnly crashes while playing music. It happens multiple times per day. I have no ides why. Sometimes, a song plays with no sound. The UI is clunky. I have both Album Artists and Artists in the tabs, as well as Genres, but not Playlists. Playlists appears in the menu. I would prefer to have the alphabetical list always shown on the right side. It's hard to gauge how much I have to move down or up to go where I want.

This is a great app with an amazing variety of customization options. This is my favorite of all the music apps that I've tried aside from the use of the unlocker. I wish that instead they used a separate paid app like the majority of other apps. It makes it more difficult if I switch between accounts, and I often have to reset if it stops working.

I primarily bought the unlocker to have the ability to cast to smart speakers and tvs, etc. However, frequently the cast button is gone desipte purchasing the unlocker. This is not isolated, but a regular occurrence. I frequently have to force stop the app, open the unlocker's play store page, even a couple times had to reinstall the base app or combination of stuff. I would much rather have preferred a separate app than have an unlocker to have premium features and avoid such a serious bug.

Love the player, but why does this unlocker stay visible? Do I need to keep it installed? Update: I understand your reply, but please think about updating the app so it doesn't need this. No other paid app I have has an extra app for key, and no I don't want to get a 3rd party app to solve this one issue. I occasionally look at other music players because of this, but nothing rivals GMMP. I'd gladly pay for a new version of GMMP that doesn't have a separate key app. 🤙

Great potential, regularly breaks with updates. Lots of features here for the tech-heads and music nerds but I can't keep using this. Every major update wipes the app's memory and requires a re-scan of my whole library (which takes ages and consumed a fair amount of battery on my old phone). Updates often reset or alter a bunch of settings and the app ended up automatically downloading incorrect album artwork onto my files.

Highly configurable in worthwhile areas but not too difficult out of the box. Config skip time (great 4 long files like trance); functioning interface centered around listening & controlling your music, not watching it! Another programmer thoughtful in preparing a fair trial to test drive, in addition to a feature/usage website -many thanks! Though only a few fair apps in the sea of music 'displayers', GoneMad goes above & beyond what a great app does and is worth 3 times the price!

This is the best music player on Android bar none. Even with the caveat of it being able to play your local music collection only, the amount of customization it offers allows the app to contour to your expectations, rather than live with limitations. And with so many applications that don't give any consideration to what or how different people may want to interact with them, GoneMAD comes off as a complete rethink here, and I love it for that. I like that considerable consideration was given to the landscape orientation, and split UI in landscape has become my favorite way to use the app. Improvements I'd like to see would be to not have the menus back out and close after making changes. It's tedious to drill back down into them when you just want to see how "card view" looks in "compact". Even though it's a set it once affair, our first week using the app if you so choose you can spend a couple hours picking through the menus to create your perfect experience. It's a similar situation with the widgets. It's nice that there are a lot of options for widget size and shape, but not being able to edit a widget after you place it is a bummer. I wish the dynamic color mode also had the option to color your music list. What a fantastic music player.

This just got a huge overhaul which makes it look awesome and even better features. It originally discovered all the mp3s on your phone and loaded them into the library. Now it's got some awesome extras like hold click over the app itself and play from where you left off. This is totally awesome and unexpected update. Keep up the good work!
