2025-01-23 | It seems like a fine launcher, and I'm surprised there really isn't a lot of choice for launchers these days, but I can't really recommend this one for two big reasons: 1. No ability to turn off the news feed screen to the left of the home screen 2. No ability to set a home bar, like you would find on the nova launcher Everyone uses their phone differently so I can understand if those two points are no big deal for you, but I don't read the news often enough that I need it a single swipe away.
2025-01-10 | I've been using (and paid for) this app since SL3.... SL6.5 is what I'm using on my "new to me" s24 ultra. Smart Launcher has consistently improved over my many years of use.... Configuration would be a little confusing for a newbie, but makes sense to me after 4 different phones. And thats what I love about it, my app draw and home screen (after configuration) will always look familier, not matter what phone I have
2025-01-02 | Got the theme I had for years finally working again. Took a bit of playing around to finally have the app icons and theme that disappeared come back. The new size of the icons are a bit uncanny. Going from the web available Smart Launcher 5 and update via play store to 6 fixed all of the glitches. Hoping the next update is better.
2024-12-29 | I've bounced around through a lot of launchers through the years from like; Nova, Niagara, Microsoft, One UI, Pixel Launcher. All of them have their plus and minuses, but Smart Launcher feels like where I'm going to stay for awhile. Tons of customization and plenty of features. I just wish I could use the Google feed instead of the Smart Launcher feed. Overall great launcher though.
2024-12-28 | Big issue: my PWAs (progressive web-apps, aka "add to homescreen") stopped working. The icons don't do anything when tapped. When I re-add them, they work fine... for now. But this is not okay to have icons just die, and you don't have a bug report button so hi I'll give you a 3-star rating instead. Also unimpressed that it takes a long time to add a bunch of shortcut-style widgets (eg a dozen google play books) due to them being buried under a subsubmenu.
2024-12-25 | I actually really love this launcher. It's sooooo close to being perfect, but there is, unfortunately, one downside that's pretty significant - I have a Galaxy Fold5, and SL still doesn't offer foldable-specific settings. In other words, I'm stuck with the same layout on both screens....it's suuuper awkward to customize and streamline when the main screen is double the size of the cover. Pleeeeease add compatibility for foldables soon! :)
2024-12-19 | This really is the best launcher, there are practically no ads if any at all, it never crashes, the grid system really works great and you can customize the size of of the widgets freely, you can customize all of your colors, fonts and icons. 100% recommend downloading to anyone hesitant. The BEST free to use launcher. Only complaint is the awful app sorting system when you try to move apps into categories it only works sometimes which is INCREDIBLY ANNOYING and makes me consider deleting it tho
2024-12-18 | Almost 5 star. Can we please enable custom gesture control/navigation in the extra homepage(s) ? The current version is able to detect gesture control and use it to spatially navigate back to the main home / previous page, enabling custom gesture on the other swiping direction such as up and down should not be a difficult addition to the current script.
2024-12-16 | used this launcher for while it is nice it's bette than the default android one I had where there were big spaces on the top and bottom of the home screen. The names of apps can also be hidden making it much more minimalistic. I did find an app that I think is better but that's just personal preference.
2024-12-15 | Love the launcher, it has been my go to launcher for years. Feature request: it would be nice if smart launcher could set a different wallpaper for when android is in dark/light mode. I used to do this with tasker, but ever since google revoked your access to the wallpaper this means my launcher colors don't change with it, and I don't want to take a new screenshot every morning/evening when the theme changes. If smart launcher could do this on it's own that would be great. |
