If it stops when the screen goes off, it's your phone power management and/or permissions. Settings>Device Care>App Power Management>Apps that won't be put to sleep... And add it to the list.

Two reasons for me to uninstall this app: 1. I've never got round to using it and; 2. There are no meaning reviews on Google Play. I scrolled back through 6 months of reviews and, it's all meaningless junk. All of it. I suppose there's some sort of incentive for junk feedback being left. Dunno.
