The app is a well designed social media app. However, the translation features can be a bit slow sometimes. It doesn't translate words on pictures or translate live chat while people are streaming, and there is no option to select certain text to translate in a live stream. Other things are no translation for the buttons or explanation on what they do.

Easy to train algorithm to be a positive reflection of one's interests. It's the BEST way to continue to learn Mandarin if you've already achieved fluency but currently don't have access to being immersed in the language. For newer learners, it surely helps too but obviously as supplemental and complementary to working with a native speaking teacher. I love how you can control the speed, download the videos into your device, save/easily accessible videos. I learn everytime I use lil red book ! ❤
