2024-11-23 | I've scanned roughly 150 hymns so far using this app. This app can be finnicky at times. If the sheet music's author adds a slightly smaller note, or if a pen scratch covers crucial places, it can be a pain to get right if at all. But otherwise, it has roughly an 80% success rate for me, and I haven't looked at his guide on how to use it yet. This is easily the best app I've used to transcribe sheet music. What was once a 4 hour trek per page to get a proper midi file now takes less than 4 min
2024-11-06 | so far a Positive experience with my limited use. While there are obvious errors in the playback like not recognizing tied notes or multiple bars of rests tied together with a number above, I feel the APP is going to be quite beneficial and 90%accurate. I'd like to see or hear a starting metronome tempo and need a way to edit the playback or correct some of its errors like skipping through repeats. On the positive side, choosing the instrument to hear playback in has a great selection.
2024-11-01 | This is 100% worth the money. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because when I take a picture of the music, sometimes it confuses the notes for ghost notes and I have to retake the picture multiple times. Even after cleaning my camera. Other than that, a very good app to use and would definitely recommend
2024-10-22 | Not perfect but pretty useful. Image of the music has to be clear and evenly lighted to get a clear translation, but for scanning a kid's sheet music to allow them to the hear what the pitch and timing should be, it's great. Choice of instrument for playback and ability to change tempo and pitch are great features.
2024-06-12 | For an app you have to pay money for, you should expect it to work. It doesn't separate different voice parts, which is fine my me. The real issues it is incredibly hard to get it to read the music accurately. On some sheet music, it cant read sharps and dlats and it counts them as notes... I bought it so I could save time on plucking notes, but it would save more time plucking them out on a piano myself.
2024-05-02 | I use this to capture tunes from the 1912 Psalter, and it reads them very accurately, especially for the quality of my old music. Worth every penny. I export the file to .musicxml and open it with Musescore3. Sometimes the app plays it all correctly, but the file is not quite right. Still, I have no serious complaints. My suggestion for an update would be to include support for lyrics.
2024-02-13 | A good app, reads sheet music well (sometimes) as long as it's a good picture. Will sometimes skip rests, and well as not read grace notes. Doesn't consider key signature, so if you are looking for correct notes int he key signature and rhythms it might be an issue. I wish you could make the sound bass clarinet, but does have most of the more common instruments.
2024-01-04 | I had read some of the reviews that were pretty negative but there really is nothing else like it, so I figured I could risk $5. I've been using it for a week and am very satisfied - it works amazingly well. The only tricky part is take a clear enough photo for the app to decipher - but with good light and a flat, clean page I've had complete success (some times it took several tries). I think it's great, very helpful.
2024-01-02 | The lower reviews aren't wrong. Occasionally notes are missed or rhythms are incorrect. But it's about 90% accurate and may still be helpful depending on how you're using it. I use this to check that I'm reading the music correctly when I first start playing it which, for me, has been EXTREMELY helpful. But I'm an experienced musician and know when the app has goofed. If you're hoping to use this to learn to read/play without the help of an experienced tutor, you may have some issues.
2023-12-13 | This app is amazing. It allows you to scan and play music back so you can hear it. It also is great for exporting music files as XML and then importing it into sibelius or another editting app. One should not steal music but this allows me to edit music I own separating parts of eliminating tab parts so that there are less pages. A trombone part can be made into a horn part easily. What a great app. People expecting perfection from a picture are insane. For $5.. this is incredible. |
