Love that we can hunt with a spear now, tinder option on fire screen saves alot of time. Maybe you could add string from rope, fur from animals maybe to make better cloths for a winter based scenario? Maybe craft two hunting spears to make an javelin atlattle type weapon for a 10% boost for success for a Hunt? Made this post ten years ago. Still occasionally play this game when I miss the woods. Thanks for the peaceful hours dude. The games better. For sure. And I'm glad the core / vibe stayd

Been playing this since the original. I like the new version. I enjoy it. Edited from 12/24/2023: I have been able to attain most achievements, some are still buggy but the addition of Grizzly Mountain was awesome. Giving more avenues to succeed in the Swamp n was nice too. Looking forward to the new scenarios. And, still trying to catch the legendary Pike.

One of the best app games on here. It's a great game and worth buying the full version. This is a good example of how great app games can be. I've spend easily 4 gameplay hours on a single play through. I have to give props to the developer on the menu music. It's a great all around experience.

EDIT Dec 2024: The latest update dramatically improved the game. As promised, there are new scenarios and updated features and scenes, which are a lot of fun. It gets under your skin - I found myself eyeing a tarp at a hardware store yesterday before realizing that I didn't need to camp in the wilderness anytime soon. The best part of the game are the surprises - unexpected events, rare finds, interesting scenery, etc.

Played this game years ago (around 2017) and kept checking in each year. I've played it a few times over the years and it's nice to see more varied backgrounds and audio. Something about the in game night time feels... Nostalgic. I'll keep checking in every year or so. Keep up the good work. @Juuso reinstalled and the tutorial works fine. It would freeze on the tutorial after pressing "Access the Situation". But it seems to work now. Edit: Pike Lake tutorial

I came back to this game after about a year and was unpleasently surprised. Previously, the game had about five or so free scenarios. Now it only has two free (one is a tutorial). Basically no gameplay except replaying on harder difficulties. Great potential, but currently not fun.

Really good, fun game! My biggest issue is the availability of wood, I'll be in an area with trees but have to spend all night gathering wood to keep my fire going. I can't carry wood due to weight, being able to make multiple copies of carrying capacity items would be great. And an option to switch between lure or bait for fishing would be nice. I'm not sure if it's still being worked on but the achievements aren't working for me. I got the fishing one during the tutorial and nothing since.

I really loved it way back when. It's so fun imagining trying to survive in the wilderness without actually having to endure any discomfort. I came across... version 2?... a little more recently and it's also great fun. The interface was a little more complicated but not too. Game is challenging but not overly so, sometimes I die, sometimes I succeed. The audio and the diurnal cycle represented on your screen are great aids to your imagination.

Lots of fun. Every time you play it's different enough to keep it engaging. You might survive one time and use the same strategy next time and die. You don't have to buy the full version to enjoy it, but I did after playing the free version for several years to get access to the new scenarios. I do wish it was available as a family library game though.

*Edit to reflect on the improved game* I've been playing the game for years, and was surprised to see the new version. It's harder, for whatever reason collecting wood is now 10x harder. But the stats deplete slower. I've been playing for about a year. This game will make you so angry you say "I'm done". But you eat something and sink another 84 mins in. It's hard. The Swamp is the hardest. But it challenges your brain. My only wish is for the compass to be useful. please??
