2024-09-11	Harker	The last update made the app pretty much unusable. I didn't mind the static ads in threads previously, but the pop-up ads (unskippable or not) completely ruin the experience. Add to that the fact that posts take a long time to load (the ads load instantly though), and I've completely stopped using the app.
2024-07-25	Chris Dozier	Used to love this app for quick forum reading and posting. There were ads, but none that interrupted your browsing as you scrolled down the page. Recently they did an update where full-screen ads pop up now. Sometimes not even loading the ad, just a blank, black screen. Forums load slow now, while other "background" stuff (loading another blank-page usually) bogs it down and the app freezes up. I've gone back to using my browser. TapaTRASH.
2024-06-23	Raini Helmstadter	Tapatalk has always been somewhat clunky an annoying to use, but the recent update has really tanked it. The new popup ads load really well - instantly, in fact - but the posts I actually want to see take an unbelievably long time to load. It's strange, because content will display for a moment before the popup appears, but then be gone afterwards. I'd be happy to watch an ad, but only if I can also see what I'm interested in. As it currently stands, Tapatalk is basically unusable.
2024-06-23	Tyler Penland	I've had this app for almost 10 years (downloaded in 2013) and have never had any problems. The last update has resulted in very slow performance and sometimes I can't even get the forum topics to load at all. I'm not even annoyed about the removal of features like some other folks, but the poor loading times are very frustrating.
2024-05-21	Max Arterburn	This app has crept over the threshold of usability with the additional pop-up ads that were added with the latest update. Those ads generally cause the app to crash and/or the threads to not load. At it's best it slows the app way, way down. I thought I just needed to uninstall & reinstall (as I've done several times previously), but nay, this seems like a permanent change for the worse. I've certainly paid for premium in the past, but this makes me just never want to do it again.
2022-03-14	Jason Carlucci	I'm really getting tired of constant nagging to upgrade when half the time I just see a spinning loading icon. It never loads. Usually restarting the phone works but not always. In addition, sometimes images don't load. The lack of the ability to leave anything but a like as a reaction is dumb. Go to the main site, multiple reactions available. Tapatalk app, 1 type. It seems like these guys are trying to raise enough money from upgrades to pay the coders to fix a broken app. This is backwards!
2021-07-13	James Harris	The recent update added new scroll past are ads. In the past there were small ads that were placed like posts. Now there are almost full screen ads you need to scroll the content pass. The for pay version requires a subscription. A subscription to get to otherwise free messages boards. That subscription is a non starter. If we continue to see these updates like the last I will be looking for an alternative. Update. We now have auto play embedded flash ads. This app is going down the tubes..
2021-05-02	VinylHanger	I love this app. However, the pop up video ads are a non starter. They are loud and obnoxious and only seem to be at night when others are sleeping. Will delete if not stopped. Seems like I'm not the only one annoyed by them. Edit: They are louder now and I can't even see them, and can't turn them off. Just annoying noise and irrelevant advertising. 1:30 am while reading in bed. Not cool.
2021-04-12	Brianna Arnett	It is nice to have easy access to the forums I am in. But if it keeps offering video ads, I'm going to be deleting. I don't always have wifi access, and it will play video ads even while I'm posting a repl. For the first long while I used it, it was just image ads that were annoying, sure, but able to be worked with. Now it's CONSTANT video ads, and when you try to mute them, it sends you to the "Pay $4.99/year April deal for no ads." Be smart with the ads or you'll lose people.
2020-10-19	A Google user	Started off great, then had issues and couldn't get the app to perform at all. Chris at customer support reached out with help to get the app working again. Ultimately I had to uninstall then reinstall the app to get it working. Now it's working as desired. The app is useful and greatly more convenient than browsing and posting in forums on my web browser.
