2025-01-20 | I give up. It's hard to imagine a machine that likes to mess with me. One day, It's running like a dream. Everything as it should be with all features working together. Then the bottom falls out. One device burps and it's back to square one. I spend more and more time fighting the app. AND I paid for it. Honestly, I feel it has too much control. Maybe it doesn't get along with my access point, Mcafee or another device. All I know is, I spend way to much time trying to keep it working.
2025-01-13 | Well the greed finally ruined it. This app used to be the best simple way to scan a network. Then they kept trying to sell you more features and monitor services, and now you can't even scan a network twice in one day without paying for the premium. As a professional network tech I can say that it's garbage and useless now.
2024-12-14 | Terrible. It used to be good until it was bought and they started charging for the features. Now they've just done another upgrade to the app where more stuff is suddenly considered premium and they broke the app at the same time. It's now throwing bugs. I just unplugged the device and switched to an open source firewall, and I am much happier. So congrats.
2024-11-27 | Used to be a really good app. Then they implemented the unnecessary need for a subscription to scan your own network more than once a day. I have a lot of IoT devices on my network, so looks like I'll be finding a new app. And not to sure why it doesn't work on offline networks anymore either. Save yourself the time, do not use this app anymore.
2024-11-23 | App used to be great. Now it's just full of advertising spam and it doesn't work properly. Can do a network scan and it only picks up half the network. Scan again, get about two thirds. Go to scan the rest and get a message saying you need to upgrade to see the rest. Makes this app useless for its intended purpose at this point.
2024-10-26 | Great example of entshitification. Install FOSS "Ning" instead. I want the app to do one thing: scan the network to give me the IP of the router or whatever. Maybe run a port check. This used to be no issue, but now, APPARENTLY I only have a limited number of scans to "reduce load" or whatever BS. Absolute nonsense. The CORE USE of this app has been removed for me, and the idea of paying 3€ a month for a TOOL I use maybe once every two months is just completely disconnected from reality.
2024-10-15 | Downloaded as wanted some control over devices on my network, specifically to lock certain devices from the internet. You can only use this feature by using the desktop version which is only installable on Windows or Mac so unusable for me being a Linux user. Viewing the devices is okay and there's a lot of features but the useful ones I'm locked out from.
2024-10-06 | Descended into greed. Was once a great and useful app. Now they will only let you use it if you subscribe -- which is extra stupid since it is a LAN app, not an online service. It's only a matter of time before someone develops a replacement app and offers it for free. Then Fing will die and fade away. That's what they get for trying to squeeze money out of users
2024-10-04 | I haven't used this app in months. Now when i actually need to use it i hit a paywall. Wait for a "cool down" or pay $2.99. no thanks, deleting this. This app has no support for Ethernet connections, only wifi. There are many Android devices that have Ethernet ports or with modern smart phones you simply connect a USB type C to Ethernet adapter.
2024-09-14 | Absolute garbage. I bought the Fing box when subscriptions were not a thing & not long after, the company started taking away features without a subscription. Now another removal - I can't see mac addresses in the list on my phone and when I refresh it says the app needs a breather....for a DAY! I continue to regret my purchase & only sunk-cost-fallacy makes me turn it on to see if this company has come to its senses. |
