Uab is still the leading research facility for AIDS and HIV in the country and I would venture to say in the world. They have developed some of the most cutting edge medications that keep my infection inoculated by simply taking one pill a day. This is amazing compared to what it was like 20 years ago to find out you have HIV. My partner found that out 20 years ago and it broke my heart when my mother would not let him hold my nephew because she thought he would get quote "the AIDS"
