Developing a new game (that no one asked for) just to put a hard stop to updates is frankly a disappointing slap in the face to fans. For every good thing this game brought (mostly QoL updates), there were more negative and useless features. The general plot and writing are also lackluster in comparison to the original, so it's sad to see a departure from a great series that had so much potential. Then again, Solmare does have a track record of making questionable decisions

It's 1 step forward, then 2 steps back. Fixed the gameplay to be interactive, but they then had made a new game, meaning the previous game is now pointless, and now lost the overall aesthetic from a Gothic academic to now futuristic in the main screen, despite this game being a past event. Pricey pay walls. For a game that calls itself an otome game, yet just now you have the OPTION to date a character IF you pay an additional fee to access it. Love what it was, now feels greedy, fitting I guess
