2025-01-14 | I have the paid verison of this app. Audio quality is excellent. But the latest update (yesterday's January 13) makes it crash whenever I open any mp3. Re-installed but same problem. I have an s23 ultra. Hopefully they fix it in the next update Edit: Quick response and fix from the developer team (Jan 14). Mp3 files now work. Great support! Changed rating to 5 star
2025-01-14 | I downloaded the eval version on my DAP and it appeared to work okay. So I decided to get all the bells and whistles so I paid the $8.99. The eval Edition allowed me to use my wireless earbuds. But when I installed the paid for version I couldn't use wired or Wireless earbuds. Everytime I try to listen to a song the app would quit back to the icon. I uninstalled the paid version and reinstalled the eval version and it works fine now. I would like my money back or at least some settings advice.
2024-09-10 | Updated: Gee... Do I dare to update again? I Uninstalled and reinstalled then had to back door the music that reside on my sd card. I am so, so disappointed. Does Neutron need some new idiots in the app development team? 2 updates ago your app dropped the usb-c analog audio driver. The latest update does not recognize my audio library on my SD card. I rebooted my phone and re-elected the audio I wanted it to play. It does not even find a single mp3 or wav file. A problem I have seen before.
2024-08-26 | This app is absolutely amazing for listening to music, but I can do nothing with it now for the last two weeks to a month. It keeps telling me the trial period is expired. I followed the instructions to the letter to clear Neutron cache, Google Play Services cache, Google Play Store cache, and reboot device. After ten minutes of work and device restart I get the same message. This needs fixing ASAP! I highly doubt it's Google's fault.
2024-08-08 | (would give 5 stars is there was an option to edit ID3 tags) The only audio player I'll use and at the same time... Neutron is the absolute best player available on a mobile device but I'll never update through the play store ever again. If you have your music stored on an SD card and not at least above average experience, this is not for you. If you're chasing the best quality available for HD audio and willing to accept some aggregation, worth it.
2024-07-27 | My past concerns have been addressed, the app definitely needs a way to backup settings because there are a lot of settings and if for whatever reason they ever get cleared like happened to me in the past it's a huge pain setting them back up. But other than that minor thing this is probably the best music player on Android
2024-07-27 | Neutron is a good HiRes player. It will output up to 192 khz to Chromecast although most Chromecast default to 96khz. I like the app, a couple strange ways of doing things but I'm sure given more time they will refine the UI. I've had no problems with Dac control or Chromecast use at all. The folder/library setup needs some refining but works as it is. I use other apps for different reasons such as USB player but you never get everything in just one app.
2024-03-04 | The hot fix worked. This truly is an amazing app with many great features, responsive devs, tons of customization, it's kind of like the equivalent of those people who won't shut up about how good vinyl sound vs digital, (but Neutron in a much better/non-annoying way.) The only feature I wish was different was that the limiter was independent of the compressor to allow for a little more control. Even so, with this app you will want for very little and none other compare.
2024-01-13 | This is the best music player I have ever used, even anything I use to use on any PC, I ❤️ it. The only problem is Google. No, it is not Neutron. You have to add back all your music since Google and android updates. See Neutron Faqs in help. There is every possible way to change and play your 🎶. I have used this app for many years now. Keep up the great work.
2023-11-09 | Following the developer's advice, the apk available from their own website restores functionality and so Neutron is great again - it has the best audio quality playback of all apps I've tried. It is unfortunate that Google has made file access slow (unnecessary for security) for the Play Store version. Revising the rating back to where it was. Thanks again to the developer for responding with a solution! |
