2025-01-25 | I've been using it for the past 2 weeks to supplement Rosetta Stone (which is really showing its age). This app works a lot better. It is focused on grammar to a certain extent, but it's good to understand why some things work or why/what things are exceptions instead of just memorizing the phrases.
2025-01-22 | I use a few language apps due to each having their strengths and weaknesses as well as textbooks. This is my favorite because I've found myself using the phrases in my daily life. This means it teaches my brain to "think" in that language as I'm just going about my day. A HUGE WIN FOR ANY LANGUAGE LEARNER. I also enjoy the speech comparison and the pronunciation key over each word. Lastly, it's free through my library.
2025-01-17 | Got this free through my hometown library & it's very helpful! It highlights speaking, pronunciation & grammar relatively intuitively. I'm mainly using it for German, but I also dabbled in Spanish (Latin America), Shakespearean English & "Pirate" 😆 One feature that might be helpful is reinforcing spelling through typing, but since it doesn't require that the lessons can be listened to hands free.
2025-01-11 | The biggest pro is the large selection of languages. The cultural notes are also useful. The biggest con is the lack of interactive exercises. It would be much more useful if there were exercises where you select or type in answers. I want to learn to spell and write correctly to communicate with friends. It's also disappointing that only the most popular languages have full course content. There are also other languages I wish Mango had at all. Babbel uses my favorite teaching method by far!
2025-01-06 | So far, I'm really enjoying the experience learning on this app! The lessons are a nice length, and the voice clips and ability to compare your pronunciation are very helpful! I'm so glad my library was offering this, that was the coolest thing I've discovered in a while
2025-01-05 | I studied Japanese in the past but wanted to pick it back up recently, and this app has been great! It works through both polite and casual expressions, demonstrates how to say words and phrases, and gives good cultural notes on certain subjects. Most of all, I love how it is completely ad free so that I can concentrate on retaining the correct information. I highly recommend it!
2025-01-04 | So great!! Loved having daily lessons and being able to hear the pronunciation of the words. And all the grammar tips. And that reviewing concepts is already built in. I was able to link it to my library account so I got it for free which is so amazing. Definitely need to try this app out if you're trying to learn a new language.
2024-12-29 | This app has been life changing! Its truly the best one I've found for language learning. I appreciate the flow of the lessons, especially the audio only option that's been a game changer for genuinely learning. I feel like I'm understanding how to conceptualize language rather than learning words in isolation like other apps. The spaced repetition and reviews are phenomenal and I can't thank Mango & the public libraries enough for making this glorious app free for learners!
2024-12-17 | Best language learning app out there that one can get for free with a library account. Otherwise, still one of the best language learning apps, period. I've managed to sample many languages with this app, and have been learning several languages consistently since 2019 with this method, which should not be used only by itself but is excellent when accompanied by other methods or resources. I definitely recommend this over the overrated and rather childish Duolingo any day!
2024-12-04 | Korean: Great explanations and it helps understand that the building blocks of various phrases and words, which helps you to construct new sentences and translations based on those building blocks. The Korean section isnt a extensive as the other languages but I can honestly say it builds a very strong foundation to continue learning and understanding the language |
