It's a really good app for the everyday investor that just wants to put the money in and leave it. The borrow and spend features also really round out the app as a one place for everything type deal. My few gripes (and the reason I only give it 4 stars) are about random things that should be there but aren't. Like the ability to see returns over time or money management in spend.

The pie investing system is intuitive and makes portfolio customization easy and enjoyable. The automation tools are excellent for anyone looking to take a hands-off approach to investing. However, the $3/month fee (until you reach $10k in assets) is higher compared to traditional brokerage accounts that don't charge ongoing fees. That said, if you value the pie feature and automation, M1 is a solid choice.
