This company and its "smart" locks suck. My apartment complex forced them on us and the passcode system just straight up doesn't work, so if you close the door without your phone or if your phone is dead, enjoy sleeping outside for the night because there's no way back in til maintenance can show up! An issue that nobody with a set of metal keys has ever had, yet... Latch tried to reinvent the wheel and ended up with an unrollable square.

I've used a lot of app-based multi-unit security systems and this one is by far the crappiest. Bluetooth is slow and will drop the unlock even if your phone doesn't move. NFC doesn't work, near far settings make the experience totally wonky. I've seriously had to physically tap the latch box to get it to register before. No widgets, no way to remove annoying firmware update icons even though it's been updated. Total L. At least for Android users.

Hold near to unlock works 0.5% of time..., other times I have to drop everything from my hands to the ground and go in the app to click unlock. Community gate Bluetooth unlock works 20% of time..., other times I have to use remote unlock(which also may fail sometimes). Some other times the app just stays looping and doesn't load any door at all. It used to be good when I used it around 2 years ago...

Extremely unreliable. It's like Russian roulette. Works sometimes and some times it doesn't. I have to use it for door access. If I had a choice, this would be uninstalled in seconds. Also has no Android watch app like it has for the iPhone. Which is puzzling as it is a much easier to develop one for Android as compared to the i-watch. PS - I am almost convinced that the positive reviews are paid. No one in my building who has an Android has anything good to say about this app. Not one person.

Navigating the Latch app in a large complex can be cumbersome, especially when scrolling through numerous door codes to find yours. While the app offers sorting and widgets, reliance on an internet connection can be frustrating in low-signal areas like garages. In these situations, the key card provided by Latch is far more convenient for quick access. It’s a practical alternative that simplifies entry without the hassle of app connectivity.

Any apartment complex looking to incorporate this, please do not!! Use a key fob instead. It's honestly a coin flip if this app will work or not. I have to get through two doors to get to my apartment it'll work for one then not the other, or neither. Sometimes it doesn't even work when I hit unlock on the phone. Sometimes my access to all my apartment complex doors disappears. Most of the time I am carrying stuff so entering the manual code isn't feasible. Most of the time I am frustrated!

Worst smartlock system. Worse than keys. Broken. Slow. Likely compatibility issues with newer Android releases. Latch will be mentioned as a major negative when I review my apt complex. On Pixel 7 the Hold Near to Unlock function mostly worked. On my Pixel 8, it was 50%. On my Pixel 9 Pro, it doesn't work at all. List of doors now frequently takes WAY LONG to populate. Why isn't this cached? Troubleshooting guides in their support tab are so out date for AndroidOS they no longer apply.

the tap to unlock, either with the app open or closed (there's an option that supposedly enables that to work while the phone is locked) doesn't work. I have to open the app and either manually select the option to unlock my door or use the pass code. Considerably slower and more cumbersome than just using a key...

Not a review of Latch products, just the Android app. I just moved from iOS to Android. There's a few features that I took for granted on iOS that are not implemented on Android, and that dampens the experience quite a bit: Assistant integration and widgets. Without the ability to pin frequently used Spaces, it gets hard to find the one you want in a pinch. Reordering isn't really good enough. Widgets and integrations with Siri and Shortcuts make things so much better. Hoping for feature parity.

It's just unnecessary, it's less secure than a key because someone can easily clone the signal or hack the account. It barely ever works without fully opening the app when it's supposed to be automatic. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY I want to leave my house to check a package without a chance to lock myself out because I put my phone down. Auto locks immediatly
