2024-08-07 | On Pixel 8 Pro the game is unplayable until hardware acceleration is disabled in the settings. The game animations are rather choppy without acceleration but it avoids constant crashes. I like the score breakdowns at the end of each round. And it is nice to know when players discard the tile they drew. The app seems helpful for people who want to learn to play with real tiles. I would like to be able to mute all sounds without adjusting sliders so I can toggle sound off temporarily.
2024-08-06 | I used to really enjoy this. Now I can't play through a full hand without it crashing. Once it crashes, I can't continue from my save and have to start all over, completely removing progression mechanics. This bug renders the game unplayable. The developer is trying hard to fix this issue right now and I will update this as I get more information. It's sad seeing all the cool new features and not being able to participate :(
2023-12-18 | This is an outstanding mahjong app, and easily the best on the market. I have only two nitpicks. First, the game alerts you when a winnable hand is possible by putting a star over the tile(s) you should discard, but it doesn't tell you whether you have the minimum fan to declare ron. Some kind of note to indicate sufficient fan would prevent that star from baiting players into bad moves. Second, this app eats battery like crazy, and could afford some optimization. Otherwise, it's a great app.
2023-10-25 | A simple but very well put together game. You can also play this on Steam which is nice, has a much bigger table UI there, but the simplified handheld UI works perfectly. Very easy to open and get some practice in for real games. (Khan is a devil though. Never deal into his hand. You will perish.) Cute furry boys, good tutorial, plays well (offline with no ads, might I add. a rarity on phone nowadays), Totally worth the few bucks.
2023-04-13 | It's really the only offline android option that's both polished and still receives support from the dev. They either really like mahjong or they're really dedicated to making a good product, and honestly it's probably both. My previous complaint is now moot. Using the simplified tile-set is very easy on the eyes on my phone, thank you again to the developer for both the heads up and the quick response. (:
2022-05-16 | At first, gave the game negative review because it fails to work on my Samsung phone. It still freezes/locks up on my phone. But it does work on my android tablet. Would prefer to use on my phone, but at least I can play the game now. This is a very good riichi mahjong game. Very happy with the settings and game play. Nice options in the game settings if you want to turn off the background music, choose different tile style (to see better) and such.
2021-10-06 | This game is awesome. I play it a lot and I definitely keep it downloaded on my phone. It's well put together, the controls are great, the stats and data are great, it has rules and descriptions of yaku, a little bit of progression (leveling up to unlock characters), no pointless/forced story with bad dialog, seamless offline experience... I could go on. The one thing I wish it would improve is multiplayer. I've never been able to get a match.
2021-10-02 | One of the best mahjong games on the market. The interface is very user-friendly and explains different parts of gameplay very clearly, even for beginners. A few features I'd like to see is a landscape mode and an option to show what tiles are needed to go out on a ready hand.
2021-09-08 | Actually the best riichi mahjong app. I don't really care for furry stuff, but it's not really in your face at all. You're just playing against fictional characters with different play styles, and they just happen to be animals. I've tried many different riichi mahjong apps, and this is the only one with a mobile friendly interface. Also it's really beginner friendly! You can see the score breakdown after each round and click on terms for definitions.
2021-03-07 | Wonderful Riichi experience! I started playing Riichi Mahjong in ffxiv and eventually wanted to play it elsewhere. I tried a few apps, but none have the smooth and charming experience that this one did. It's nearly perfect! I wish there was a "traditional" piece set that has the big numbers of the "simplified" set, but that's my only gripe. Otherwise, order absolutely stellar! |
