Pros
    Cons
    • Frustrating point deduction system where getting a question wrong results in significant point loss (10-15 points) while gaining only 2-4 points for correct answers.
    • Lacks effective explanations for incorrect answers, leaving users confused about how to improve.
    • Poor user interface, especially on mobile, causing difficulties in navigation and interaction for younger users.
    • Technical issues including app crashes and slow performance further frustrate the learning experience.
    • Absence of features like progress tracking for parents and adaptive learning tools makes it less user-friendly.

This review is not coming from a middle schooler who doesn't like homework. I am in college now, and I can genuinely say that IXL caused the most frustration and anxiety for me back when I had to do it. When you get questions wrong, it sends you back 3 questions worth making it practical impossible to progress in challenging subjects. Today I still see the same problem with my younger family and friends making me question if any actual learning is happening with this app.

This is coming from a student. If you want your students to HATE math & be super un- motivated, this is the perfect app for you. I will get around 3 points for every correct question, but if I get one wrong, I get knocked down 7-10 points! Super un-motivated! I dread anytime my assignment is on IXL. It has potential, just needs to change its point system.
