2025-01-18 | Use this app if you want it to lie to you about your speeds. You'll be sitting there trying to load a 360p YouTube video with endless buffering then hop on this app to run a speed test only to see it says the speeds are higher than what I'm paying for. First of all my speeds shouldn't be that high, ever, to begin with. Second of all if my connection is so good then why is the entire tell us more section loading nonstop
2025-01-16 | The app itself used to be pretty good. However recently they updated the UI and it became unintuitive. (Tapping on "paused" doesn't bring you to the "unpause Internet" option/screen it brings you to the rename device screen. The device information screen now ALWAYS shows "profile=none" when that's never the case. And for some device/profile combinations, it seems to pause both of them, requiring me to unpause both after a scheduled pause. (Rather than just unpause the profile).
2025-01-10 | App seems to have become more stable over time, but still has some major drawbacks: - Network updates are forced (you cannot choose when they install) and they interrupt your internet connection. Even wired devices are interrupted. - When the app first loads and you try to touch a setting, the app quickly shifts the settings around so you press something you didn't intend to. - The ability to pause groups was changed so now it takes 2 touches, much less convenient than it previously was.
2025-01-10 | App works pretty well. The eero hardware is really good. if I had one complaint it is about the plus features for ad blocking and malware. Enabling malware blocking will make some things like my Tesla not able to connect. Ad blocking prevents YouTube from working. So I can't use either feature. It would be nice if both of these features got some more depth to them so maybe I could block ads but allow them on YouTube so I wouldn't be blocked from accessing YouTube.
2025-01-04 | Setup was quite nice but port forwarding is a nightmare, the app is riddled with ads, and changing what seemingly is any setting whatsoever requires a full reboot of your Wi-Fi network for minutes at a time. Is this better than some off the shelf router app? Yes. Is this better than literally any open source router firmware? Decidedly no. Even for technophobes you just can't easily accomplish basic tasks like getting online gaming to work with this
2024-12-23 | App performance has significantly decreased since the last few updates. Regularly takes a while to load up and occasionally says my internet connection has dropped, preventing me from accessing anything on my network. Up until recently the app was working great and now I'm so frustrated and can barely use it anymore.
2024-12-22 | Probably going to return for a refund! The setup was easy, but the app is complete garbage. My Internet is up and running, but the eero system says the Internet is down and keeps disconnecting. The in-app tools to self repair just spin and spin. They might as well have not put a speed test tool in there, I never get an actual speed displayed. Let me count the ways I am not liking this product. The pay to access other features is complete BS. Fix your stuff within by year end or I'm done!
2024-12-20 | It works good for now, we will see how this statment ages with time though. There are a plethora of ways to configure these devices in conjuction with your modem or modem/router combo. I would advise anyone looking to diy there setup to read up on them, or watch a youtube video on them so you can find the the configuration that best meets your needs. It is totally different than setting up an old router and I could see how it could probably be confusing at times if your not a tech savy person.
2024-12-15 | Eero wifi is the absolute worst wifi experience I have ever had. 3 main reasons 1. The system blacklisted a bunch of my devices on my network It was never able to connect to them ever again. 2. Every time a device would leave the network and come back it would show it as new on the app. It had no memory/cache 3. The device is that did work dropped internet constantly. On my phone if I didn't have this app running in the background I couldn't connect to Wi-Fi I spent $350 for the pro 6e system
2024-12-13 | Reliable for my mesh network for over 18months. occasional hiccups with firmware updates not applying first or even second or third times, but never a loss in WiFi 6e service, speed or quality. I run my 4 device mesh on a 10Gbps wired backbone although these units top out at 2.5Gbps when wired. I do get the most out of my 56 connected devices on my 3Gbps Internet service. with these eero units. Nothing brilliant about the app, but nothing to whine about. I don't use the premium services. |
