Decent, but the microphone option is both too sensitive and not sensitive enough. It has a habit of not hearing really low notes, hearing a note twice, and hearing a note as an octave higher or lower than it should. Overall though, I do like it and find it to be a good app for learning music, it just has annoying bugs to get used to.

It's a pretty good app for sight reading practice. The reason I rate it at 3 stars is the quality of the note pickup thru the microphone. I have a Samsung S23 ultra which has a great mic, so it's not a hardware issue. It's absolutely flow-ruining when the app doesn't pick up a note you played, forcing you to replay it to get it to move ahead. And then automatically decides you played 4 wrong notes and jumps way ahead in rapid succession. Both of those app behaviors are bad for sight reading

The app is great for practicing sight reading. The only issue is that the microphone is quite glitchy. I haven't even pressed any keys on my piano, and it's already saying the note is wrong, which makes me believe the mic set up is too sensitive. Yet, there are times during the drill, that it doesnt register that I've played the note, causing me to press the key multiple times for the note to be picked up. There should be an option to calibrate the mic with the piano being used to practice on.

The idea is great but if you are using this trainer to learn to play the piano it will be confusing. I set it for a classic staff with piano keys to indicate notes, and immediately ran into a limitation: the note indicates a "C" one octave above middle C, but requires that you tap what should be middle C. I get that there are space limitations in a phone app, but I can just see beginning students struggling to figure out why that C note should be played an octave below.

I was able to play the rhythm part of sheet music after lesson 1. I have never been able to read music well. After 55% thru the first lesson, I played the treble portion of a When Sunny Gets Blue from the sheet music. I actually read the notes to play! This method is awesome. I absolutely uninstalled Flowkey, Simply Piano, and one other because this app yielded results immediately. It really teaches you to read the notes! If you want to learn to read the notes, this is your app.

I haven't played in over 30 years. This app has been helpful for me to start teaching myself to play again. A beginner would need supplemental instruction as this is good for practice, but not for lessons or learning music theory. Sometimes it doesn't 'hear' a note even after hitting it several times, and sometimes it lags or skips, but generally it works pretty well. I am using it with a very old upright piano that needs tuning so that might be part of the cause.

I kind of hate the limitation imposed by screen space when trying to play on the piano keyboard layout, and I really hate the wheel alternative. I'm not sure how well this is going to help me improve my sight reading apart from possibly recognizing the notes faster. It's really not optimal for making the connection to the piano keyboard, for sure.

This app really helps me with learning to sight read properly & quickly. Within a week of use, I memorized the majority of the Treble clef. I do the exercises repeatedly until I get faster without any errors then move on to the next one. You really have a lot to do in the free version without having to pay but it's definitely 1000% worth it to buy the full version. The developers have two other apps that are equally as good and together you have everything you need to be a better musician. 😍

I started learning notes about a week ago and have been progressing quickly!! It's an easy app, and it helps you learn to practice and recognize the proper notes. It feels like a video game to me, which helps because I learn quickly that way. I bought the full app, and it was definitely worth it! I highly recommend this app to anyone learning how to read sheet music or wanting to improve their musical abilities!!

As a novice, I love that I learn and practice at my own pace. I've always been interested in learning instruments, but reading/knowing terms felt too dense. What we have here is a "one step at a time" muscle memory teacher. More and more of my responses feel instinctual, which is, in a word, incredible. Highly recommended for anyone remotely curious in music.
