The app can be so annoying in certain circumstances. When you do an online purchase and have to swipe to approve before going back to the seller the app gets stuck and takes FOREVER to get out of swipe to approve...even though the purchase has been completed. That really needs attention. The BOI logo won't appear and you cannot open the app.

Use app quite a lot, I think the 48hr for new payee is maybe awkward but worth it for protection of customers kind of a cooling off period for large sums and protects more vulnerable customers. the ability to get statements immediately online is extremely handy.

The app is very basic, lacks significant functionality and has dead-ends and duplication built into it. It's 10+yrs behind modern banking apps like revolut and almost as far behind even the likes of AIB. It's to be expected from a bank that can't even offer online bank statements on demand. Generally disappointing.

Lack of basic features. I'm not able to take a screenshot of a transfer, not proof of transfer available either. The authentication is another joke. In terms of technology, it feels like the oldest bank app in the world. I guess this is what we have at the moment.

Very limited both in functionality and information compared to my old bank's app and compared to Revolut, for example. There are no statements for transactions, no confirmation for account ownership, no banking mailbox, no stocks, nothing. The site is no better. Basically just a copy of the app. I've never seen a more barebones banking app, ever...

Since BOI always seem to leave a general response under these reviews looking for feedback, here's some feedback. Put your hands into your pockets and spend some of the money you get from your ridiculous maintenance charges and commission a full scale upgrade of the app. Revolut is the mobile banking standard and you are 20 years behind and are losing customers because of it. I'm nearly past it at this point and considering moving completely.

The app is lacking some basic functions such as a rolling balance. It's very useful to be able to look back in time and to see what my balance was on a particular moment in time. Downloading my statement is a clunky process. In other banking apps, I can select a start and end date and the pdf is instantly exported. Adding payees should be easier too. I would like to be able to bypass having to wait for an initial time period to pass to send money to a payee by use of a verification process.

clunky. too much writing and info inside. I want to do my banking not read tons of essays. App gets worse. It's just a screen full of text. Too many options but for info I need like transactions i cant see anything. It's like an app from 2009. BoI is awful but no real banking options in Ireland.

I have this app 3 months and it seems to be down more often that it's working, It never tells you why it's down just that you have a problem logging in. A simple message as to why it's not working would be useful. There cannot be that much maintenance to do on it.

Glitchy AF, really poor service. Self serve options are mostly useless and you still need to log on to a computer to do any meaningful banking. Can't see transaction names like on Revolt which is an overall much better app and rarely has issues. Constant maintenance on app as well which never seems to actually improve anything. Typical Irish app in my opinion, as someone with a background in app development, this was created with a basic structure by mediocre coders, sold, and never improved on
