2024-11-06 | I can remember all the word or phrase easily and clearly I love this app.... This is too much good app to learn any language than other app ..still I am learning japanese
2024-08-01 | It's Japanese learning is good as well as it supports Hands-Free mode so you can check your pronunciation and stuff. But the thing is without a subscription, it's almost completely worthless because there are only ten chapters at most. After that you can only do the daily challenges, which doesn't have same level of speech recognition as normal lesson as well as in daily challenges, You can only learn combination of nine total words as well as phrase.
2023-06-01 | Ok so the apps good but during the speaking exercise or "Hands free" (I think that's the name they use) you can't turn off romaji so it's kinda annoying. So if possible in the next update could you make it so you can turn romaji off in the hands free exercise? as you can turn it off with other exercises. Or at least have a option to enable furigana in the speaking exercises. Also a lot of the stuff seems to be locked behind a pay wall.
2023-02-11 | Low customizablity, users only get the choice between complete romaji or hiragana/kanji with no option for furigana. Makes the learning experience completely useless, since you're either reading English characters and learning nothing, or being shown kanji you don't know and are learning nothing. Also, all spoken responses are prewritten, so you're just reciting, not learning. They are testing your ability to read, not speak.
2023-01-30 | Pretty terrible application, without having premium at least. There are plenty of mistranslated words and akward sentences. They do not introduce or explain anything. They use one word for say plane and then all of sudden their using another word for the same word, leaving you to decipher the usage of each form. The lesson are short, easy and too simple. Just pick images and sentence blocks. They repeat the exact same sentences many times in one lesson. I find this app helped me learn nothing.
2023-01-26 | The app isn't terrible, but I feel like it's execution isn't the best. I already speak Japanese on what I consider an immediate to advance level. I feel like there needs to be a way for people like me to test into a higher level. Then on top of that, my Japanese Keyboard kept glitching out everytime I attempted to type a word. So it would immediately just go back to English. Which caused me to get everything wrong. The button that switches you from Japanese to romanji doesn't work either.
2020-01-17 | I love this app, it's great and I've been using it for a while to do daily lessons & I add random weekly and monthly challenges to keep me on my toes but SO OFTEN after spending a significant amount of time doing a monthly challenge I don't get credited the points so it's all for nothing. Now I have to slalom through the monthly quizzes to avoid ones I don't get credits for completing. I've reported bugs repeatedly but I never get a response nor does the problem get resolved. Come on Mondly.
2019-12-13 | Don't install this app unless you're ready to start on it IMMEDIATELY. It constantly harasses with notifications you can not turn off till going through the excessively long intro. I use and have tried a lot of different language apps. The setup on this one really needs reworking. I finally uninstalled to stop the lame prompting. Maybe I'll try it again in a few months, but there are definitely plenty of other alternatives with a better interface.
2019-11-08 | I love that they take something so complicated and they split it up into manageable chunks to allow you to get your head around it. Makes it a little simpler. It has many options when it comes to answering quizzes. You can use kanji, you can have it shown in romanji or if you think you know how to say it you can do it that way which really let's you practice speaking it.
2019-09-23 | I'm a veteran of language learning apps for Japanese, because I need to learn and don't live anywhere I could go for more formal classes. The truth is, none of them is perfect. Mondly is good for teaching you everyday vocabulary and grammar, and is mostly easy to use and fun. It falls down occasionally on the chatbot, and I've located occasional errors, but the fact I can identify the errors suggests I'm making progress, so... Better than DuoLingo, and probably on a par with Busuu. |
