You can't filter by anything other than age, & you get a measley 7 likes to send per day unless you pay. So it's no wonder that you may go weeks or months without interacting with anyone. They're pushing you as hard as they can towards a paid subscription, the cheapest of which is a ridiculous $17/week. And then there are the "standouts." Hinge pulls 10 "special" people aside, requiring you to buy roses separately to match with them, even if you've subscribed. A complete waste of money.

Surprisingly good set of free features for a dating app considering most are gimped unless you pay $1,000 / month or whatever. It also has a good UI, and decent sets of questions. The only complaint I have is I wish they'd allow more characters in the answers. Being limited to a sentence or two just sucks when trying to explain something upfront before a match. I can't say sorry answer prevents a match but it'd still be nice to say more upfront. It's still a great app though.

Extremely terrible garbage app. Tinder has a better experience overall. Very high paywall and almost no matches. I live in Vegas, where there are TONS of people using apps like this. My buddy and I were playing for fun and swiped right on each other to see how fast we would see it. Neither one of us got the notification or even showed in our likes even after we both paid until days later. This app is a huge joke and needs to be deleted from the app store for ripping ppl out of money.

Only downloaded it because OkCupid kept pushing it super hard. Come to find out, it's absolutely the worst interface I've ever used on any app ever, let alone a dating app. I've also never been a fan of "limited swipes," because the idea of locking love behind a paywall is super tacky imo. Would rate lower. Do not recommend.

Total scam confirmed, don't fall for it. Signed up 6 months ago and was really impressed by the amount of decent potential partners expressing interest. Paid for the ability to communicate more simply and suddenly all I see are unsuitable people for like 6 months and hardly any likes. Then magically when my subscription runs out I suddenly start getting besieged with likes from more suitable people again. 100% Scam. Hinge please issue a refund, you are operating a scam dating app.

I've found a few dates when I first got the app and got a subscription, and then they introduced boost... since then I have not gotten near as many matches even with a subscription. it's just not a good app for the common non paying person. it's extremely pay to use, and ive matched with close friends just because we seen each other, and then the conversation randomly disappears. if you don't pay for a boost you will rarely be seen by people. and it's just too overpriced to see it as reasonable.

I have not been as happy with this app as the ads might indicate. I've been on Hinge for close to two years at this point, have had maybe a dozen matches, three of which lead to a date and nothing beyond that. While the interface is good, the fact that so much is locked behind a pay wall is discouraging, and I did try paying. I bought a months subscription and during that month, nothing happened. No matches, no dates. Total waste of money.

The paid version certainly gives more control over searches, but that only helps if you live in an area where compatible people are. Being as polar-opposite to the people around me as I can be, certainly does me no favors here. Support seems to be proactive in weeding out sketchy profiles though, and they make reporting incidents easy, so there is that.

It's okay, I guess. Been using two dating apps and gave a pretty (hopefully) respectful profile and yet I don't seem to get any matches at all, and I was told this was a great app. Talked to a few people that seemed to click, but then got ghosted without explanation, so maybe I'm just destined to be alone or something. Good app though, I guess. Has issues though like messaging glitches.

Horrible on purpose... This app doesn't display distance or town when it shows you people. It'll just say a neighborhood or "down town" in the location box. That would be fine if it would show you people in your location preferences. But it doesn't. It shows you people hundreds of miles away, even if you have your preferences set to 50 miles... Because *that person doesn't have location preferences set, or has them set at 1000 miles. So get ready to Google maps each match you get. Really sucks
