| 2025-01-21 |  | | This app is very glitchy on a Pixel. 1. Rotation to landscape occurs even if not engaged/desired within the main pixel os 2. App repeatedly goes to the wrong article. Usually the last one read. If you return to the home page afterwards and try again, it then works. Both of these issues have been there for a while, come on BBC. |

The same awful algorithm that pushes me further into rabbit holes: e.g. when I click on an article, it just links to similar - not back to what should be other main news stories of the day. Its been about a year into this "new" version and I realise I look at BBC far, far less than I used to - and that's a fail - and a pity, because I know there is good content to be found... |
| 2025-01-09 |  | | A great source of information and news, but lately the app has been really buggy. Videos won't play after watching the ads. And it crashes and takes forever to load anything. I'm using the Samsung Galaxy S8+. Please fix this and I will happily give 5 stars. (edit) Not only have they not fixed the problems I mentioned, they have shoved so many ads into the articles now it's near impossible to read. Just another money hungry company. One star, I'd give zero if I could. |

Want to watch endless commercials before being able to see news blipps? Well this is the app for you! Perhaps after watching multiple adverts you will still be intrigued by what the BBC has to offer; frankly my time is worth more than idly sitting around watching commercials. This once reliable broadcast is the new fox news. |
| 2024-10-12 |  | | App used to be great, but with the recent overhaul it is easier to just use a web browser. Can no longer swipe between articles or open and enlarge the pictures within them. I finally gave up and just uninstalled the standalone app. I'll watch to see if it ever gets some of those features back - then I might consider it again. |

I don't want an account and I don't want to be asked to make one every single time I open the app. Offline reading is also gone now. What's the point of having this app when its new design is such a turn off? After an additional update, the app now also refuses to respect orientation lock. I lock the phone to portrait mode but the app wants to be in landscape sometimes. |

It's certainly the only reason I put up with this app. There are several changes to the app that didn't seem to need to happen, and user experience suffers for it. Hopefully, you sort it soon. |

HOWEVER, with its app revision, I think the developers hate left-handed people because anytime I try to use my left hand to scroll and read, it instantly moves the story to the left and shows next story which is completely annoying. So far, I can not figure out how to fix it. I'm unable to adjust it with my scrolling or hand-gesture settings. Yes, I can use my right hand. Must I always? |
| 2024-09-13 |  | | This was my favorite news app for over a decade. It's where I went to get my my unbiased US news. As others have stated, the major overhaul to this app has been overwhelmingly terrible. Articles are more difficult to find, the app constantly crashes, and the design layout is terrible. I don't want to change news apps, but I will unless they get rid of this new overhaul and go back to the old design soon. |
