Helping me recover from a stroke. But hello—speaking of strokes, one of the things I struggle with the most is reading and writing. I speak English and German, and a little French, so I'm using Rosetta Stone to relearn reading and writing in German while also improving my French fluency at the same time. right now, my main focus is relearning reading and writing in English, and German. But I will be continuing my practice of French... Maybe Chinese for Red Note

So far besides duolingo, this is the only app service that can correctly parse audio and not glitch. Tried Pimsleur, jumpspeak, talkpal, none worked very smoothly. At 199.99 for lifetime access, for the amount of learning you get is a real steal. I have only used Rosetta stone and duolingo for 380 days and score level B2 on placement tests, they work, if you put in the effort.

I cannot in good conscience recommend Rosetta Stone as of today, February 2, 2025.. I had originally given it a 5 star rating, but at that time it was working, with minor bugs here and there. Since ordering this a couple of months ago, I've had to contact support more than twice. Their recommendation was to just uninstall and reinstall the app. No change. For example, I'll answer a question correctly, but it says I'm wrong. I keep pressing and finally it agrees with me! I paid for a subscription

It's way worse than the PC website. The buttons for interacting on the app are tiny making it difficult to replay audio. It feels like the PC UI scaled down rather than a hood mobile UI. Say I'm on question 10 and decide to correct question 5. I now need to redo question 6-9. Additionally the application randomly stopped recording audio from my mic forcing me to restart the app.

My biggest issue with this app is the voice recognition basically doesn't work. It has to be completely silent wherever you are or it doesn't stop listening and grade your speech. They need to add a button that will "stop" listening to your speech attempt and grade it. That would change this to a 5 star app.

3.5 stars... Unfortunately lost access to all 5 levels that I was gifted via digital key years ago and a shame that it only translates to 3 months of service. But the one time payment for unlimited access is reasonable. App so far does not feel as immersive as the original download did even at low/introductory lessons. Speaking lessons could use some tuning, as there are both times where I know I got it wrong and it marks correct and times I get it right and says it's wrong.

Enjoyed the Spanish lessons up to 1.3 then there are issues with recording and speaking back the words, at least there are issues in my vehicle over Bluetooth, have not tried outside of driving. I was hoping to use this on long trips but does not seem to work in the car.

This is not a mobile app. It is a tablet app. I want to love this app, I do, but sometimes there is text on the screen so incredibly tiny, nobody could possibly be expected to be able to read it. And it's only when there's a lot of it, so if I have to repeat back two full sentences in Spanish, and the text is literally less than one half of one millimeter tall, it is quite literally impossible to read.

The app has absolutely zero accessibility settings and is not user-friendly to visually impaired people. The font size cannot be changed and dark mode is not offered. One would think in 2025, accessibility features would be standard on apps such as this. Extremely disappointing as I wanted to learn new languages before I studied abroad this summer.

Although it's better then most of the language apps I've downloaded, I do have a slight problem. It doesn't really explain certain accents, especially for Spanish. I didn't know certain words meant different things if spoken with a different accent, which led to some confusion on my part. Overall though, it's actually pretty good.
