User reviews
Users appreciate that the Ruler app provides accurate and simple measurements for small items, boasting ease of use and a clean interface. However, many are frustrated by intrusive ads disrupting experience, a lack of portrait mode, and limited free features like starting point adjustments. Calibration is generally effective but can be confusing or imprecise. Overall, it serves well as a basic, reliable digital ruler but lacks advanced features and customization.
Pros
- Accurate measurements for small objects and easy calibration.
- Simple, intuitive, and fast to use without unnecessary features.
- Convenient as it turns the phone screen into an effective ruler without using the camera.
- Lightweight app with minimal crashes and reliable functionality.
- Visually pleasant interface and supports both inches and centimeters with easy switching.
Cons
- Intrusive and frequent ads, sometimes with loud audio or hard to close.
- Lack of portrait mode; app locks in landscape orientation causing inconvenience.
- Limited customization options in the free version, such as inability to indent measurements from the screen edge without paying.
- Calibration feature can be unintuitive or not precise for some users.
- No added functionalities like live calibration overlay or different shape guides (e.g., circle guide).

Pretty accurate. When you close the free version, an ad pops up, which is fine and to be expected. But the ad can include loud AUDIO, or fill your whole screen with an ad you can't close for 20 seconds, maybe more. Looking for a better app.

I got this app because I knit & crochet, and was going back & forth between a ruler (for items <12") & a tape measure for when things got longer, and realized they weren't measuring the same. I needed to know why & do I have ANY accurate measuring tools? Yes, my grandpap's old tools. And this. It does what I need it to do - help me calibrate my analog tools, and measure small items. I don't need anything else. If you need more, maybe invest in a real measuring tape?
