Review summary
Burger Bistro Story is a solid Kairosoft management game praised for its creative menu creation, addictive gameplay, and ability to run multiple restaurants. However, users often mention UI issues, tedious management tasks, expensive upgrades, and limited customization options. Despite some slow progression elements and lack of audio-visual polish, it remains fun and relaxing with a decent variety of recipes and gameplay depth.
Pros
- Creative menu creation allowing freedom beyond typical combos.
- Fun and addictive gameplay with lots of recipe combinations.
- Ability to manage multiple restaurants simultaneously adds depth.
- Relaxing and enjoyable experience without being boring or grindy.
- Solid game with challenging but rewarding progression typical of Kairosoft titles.
Cons
- Some UI and gameplay aspects feel tedious or unresponsive, especially when managing multiple stores.
- Upgrades and research costs can feel overpriced or slow down progression.
- Limited placement options for decorations and tables reduce creativity in restaurant setup.
- The need for repeated ingredient research per location feels redundant and costly.
- Lack of sound effects and animations during recipe creation make the experience less engaging.

2024-09-25 | Just like all other games, pretty cute. The good thing about this one is that you aren't constrained to finding the best combo, it allows for a bit more creativity with menu creation.
2024-09-17 | I love this game for its QOL features that other games don't have--particularly the fact that the almost annoying pop-up messages often go away on their own. I wish Dream Town had this feature; that I was able to rapidly tap them away. I do have a suggestion, though. PLEASE change the corn option, it visually and mechanically makes no sense. Why would you put an entire cold cob on a burger? You have to take the burger apart to eat it. Just put little corn bits on. It makes way more sense. 😂
2024-08-23 | Takes a bit of getting used to game play structure. Not as freeform as it could be. Feels rushed. If you do not take advice from your advisor at that moment when new options become available you fall behind quick in this game. Upgrades too pricey as usual. Need more capital before player "HAS" to make upgrades. Takes away the layed back/ run your Burger place at your own pace dispite lunch rush feel. Pluses: Can carry over 3 workers, ingredients, most of lvls. for vendors upon replay. 4/5 ☆
2024-08-21 | Honestly love the game. I feel like I can play it mindlessly for hours. The combos leave lots to explore and do, and I never really feel like I'm just sitting there or bored afk grinding like some other simulation games.. I feel like there's always stuff to do while time passes. It's just a solid game that's pretty fun! 👍 5/5
2024-03-18 | I have been a fan of Kairosoft games ever since I first downloaded Dungeon Village for something to play offline during a long road trip. Each game is unique, has its own goals and challenges, and there is enough content versatility that each game can be played over and over and you'll still discover a new path to completion, Easter eggs, or unlocks. Burger Bistro is no exception and is just challenging enough where their other cooking sims can be difficult to progress on the first try.
2024-01-16 | Awesome! It's a strategy game not exactly a restaurant design game! I almost never give a review but this game just cought me off-guard the graphic looks so bad I never thought I would like the game.. but damn the concept is soo good. I wish they make the same with good graphics and (fingers crossed) no ads. I'm sure this took a lot of effort in conceptualization but good job!
2024-01-01 | Love it. Fun, relaxing, some points feel a little grindy, but it isn't annoying. Lots and lots of combinations possible, the test lab is kind of fun, I keep spending everything making new recipes. I cant figure out how to change my building sizes for existing buildings, but opening new stores is easy.
2023-11-20 | Honestly a really fun way to waste some time between things, the art style is cute, the recipes are fun to create, and the names in game are often amusing references. Kairosoft is a pretty welcome addition to my go-to game developers. It's also a little less complicated than my other favourite game by them (the Manga Story), so it's a great way to relax for me!
2023-07-15 | Fun game The cost structure is a little wonky. It doesn't make sense that you have to research a topic for every location when it should be known by the company overall. It's like double the cost because you need to research it then you have to purchase it. It should be one time research then up the cost for purchase at each location or something.
2023-04-25 | Overall one of my least favorite of the Kairosoft titles. I prefer games with creativity in terms of setting up and managing areas. This one takes all of that out (you can only put tables and decorations in designated places), and makes it basically into a menu management sim. I liked Dungeon Village, Convenience Stories, Forest Camp, and the Pool Side Stories way better. |
