User reviews
Users appreciate this chess app for its offline practice capabilities, customizable viewpoints, move annotations during openings, and basic, lightweight design. However, multiple reviews report significant bugs, notably in multiplayer where the timer fails to stop after moves, leading to unfair losses. The app often disconnects or abandons games without warning or saving progress. The AI opponent difficulty has decreased in newer versions, reducing challenge. Additionally, intrusive ads hinder enjoyment, and poor sound controls detract from the experience. Despite promise, these issues affect overall usability and satisfaction.
Pros
- Good for offline practice with customizable perspectives.
- Includes move names or defenses during openings, aiding learning.
- Basic and lightweight compared to heavier chess apps.
- Allows playing with others and has multiple modes.
Cons
- Frequent bugs with multiplayer timer not stopping after move, causing unintended losses.
- Game abruptly abandons or disconnects without saving progress, especially when navigating away.
- Computer opponent difficulty reduced in recent updates, making it too easy.
- Ads are intrusive and disrupt gameplay, causing frustration.
- Sound and volume controls are poor, with loud ads playing unexpectedly.
Recent reviews
The drawback of this app is that it suddenly without any warning abandons the game and you cannot get it back. If you accidentally touch the back button or any other part of the screen, the whole game vanishes, in a flash. It doesn't ask, "Do you want to abandon this game?" There is no record of the lost game and the same problem recurs over and over again. So, not recommended.

This is just the best for offline practice. Thank you so much for the default 1 person perspective of the pieces and that the flip option for perspective is optional! Other apps only use 2 persons perspective or 1 person with obligatory auto flip which is annoying if you just want to practice alone. Please keep this like this and improve the rest, tysm!
