User reviews
Multiple users commend the Yay.com app for its ease of use, reliability, and helpful customer support. However, consistent Bluetooth audio problems that prevent headset use, poor call quality, app crashes on specific Android devices, and missing features like voicemail customization and message alerts are predominant issues. Additionally, notifications and incoming calls do not always integrate smoothly with the Android interface, causing inconvenience. While the app is praised for enabling productive remote communication, several core functionality flaws diminish overall user experience.
Pros
- Easy to use and reliable as a VoIP softphone app for Yay service.
- Good customer service, responsive and helpful in resolving issues.
- App is rock solid and works well most of the time for long-term users.
- Allows users to communicate remotely effectively, aiding productivity.
- Free trial available to test basic features before subscription.
Cons
- Bluetooth connectivity issues preventing headset/audio use are frequently reported.
- Poor call quality during inbound and outbound calls noticed by multiple users.
- App crashes on certain Android devices (e.g., Samsung S10e) when accessing Contacts.
- Lack of features like Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) and customizable voicemail dialing.
- Notifications and call answering are inconvenient, requiring manual app opening and causing screen issues.

Bluetooth issue fix: go to App Info > Permissions > Nearby Devices > and allow. Support has been good. However inbound and outbound call quality is not great. Not sure why it can be such a contrasting difference when a standard mobile phone call works fine and desk-headset calls work fine.
