User reviews
Hash Droid is a simple, open-source hash calculator app praised for its accuracy, speed, and clean design without ads. Users appreciate its variety of algorithms and ease of use. However, multiple users report issues with file reading permissions and freezing when selecting files. The app could improve by adding progress indicators during hashing and addressing font readability. Some also note limitations like no batch file hashing and compatibility issues with newer Android versions. Overall, it is a reliable, straightforward tool for verifying file integrity but has areas for improvement in usability and features.
Pros
- Easy to use with clear and intuitive design
- Supports many hashing algorithms and calculates hashes accurately
- No ads or unnecessary features, providing a clean and simple interface
- Open source and lightweight with a small footprint
- Works well for hashing large files, verifying file integrity efficiently
Cons
- Issues with reading files and file selection causing errors or freezes
- Lacks progress indicators such as percentage or progress bar during hashing
- Font readability problems due to low contrast between text and background
- Limited functionality, such as inability to hash multiple files in a folder or load multiple hashes for comparison
- Not fully compatible with newer Android versions (e.g., Android 9.0), missing integration in share or open with menus

Works properly, had no issues using it. Takes awhile to do checksums of big files (3 gigs) but that's normal and it does succeed at the end. Would say it's the best among others.

Amazing. I tried 4 different hash apps, including this one. I hashed the same text on each, and got 4 different answers -- all wrong. I used sha-256 on each.
