User reviews
Users find MCBackup easy to use, privacy-friendly, and effective for quick contacts backups in standard format without cloud reliance. However, many report app crashes on recent devices and Android versions, issues with email attachments missing backups, difficulty locating backup files, and lack of recent developer updates. Some criticism exists for default settings excluding certain contacts, lack of group data backup, and intrusive ads hindering usability.
Pros
- Easy to use and straightforward interface.
- Does not require cloud storage, preserving user privacy.
- Backs up contacts quickly and accurately.
- Backups are saved in standard .vcf format, compatible with most contact apps.
- Provides reminders for regular backups.
Cons
- App frequently crashes on newer devices like Samsung S9 and S20, and with newer Android versions.
- Backup files sometimes fail to attach properly to emails or are hard to locate on the device.
- Lack of developer updates with absence of fixes or communication despite user reports.
- Default behavior excludes contacts without phone numbers; limited backup of group data and primary phone number flag.
- Intrusive ads covering buttons and clunky user interface detract from usability.

Great app! No need to store in the big tech cloud. Provides some privacy from Google, Microsoft and Amazon who host the most servers for cloud services where most phone users store their backups. Easy to use, send via email, and install to phone. If backup is performed after changes are made, the new backup only installs the changes and does not make duplicate entries. Mike Lindell's tech should have had him use it. Two thumbs up and kudos for the developer. Thank you.

I downloaded contacts file and it wants a password to show it to me but not clear whether for my email, my MS sign in or my computer sign in which are all different. When I finally got to open the vcf file after spending ten minutes struggling with that, it only shows one contact, and no indication how to see all the other 500. So completely useless. I am using a yahoo email not in outlook
