User reviews
Discogs app offers a vast and detailed music database popular among vinyl collectors for cataloging and managing collections, including a handy barcode scanner. However, it suffers from significant technical issues such as frequent sign-outs, broken search and filter functions, frequent crashes, and login problems, rendering the app unreliable. Many users express frustration with poor customer support and bugs introduced in recent updates, leading some to abandon the app. While the service and database are praised, the app's ongoing functionality and stability issues detract heavily from user experience.
Pros
- Comprehensive and thorough music database with almost every release and variant imaginable.
- Useful for cataloging and managing vinyl and music collections effectively.
- Barcode scanner feature facilitates quick addition of items to collections.
- Improved speed and smoother performance reported in recent updates by some users.
- Functional and valuable when the app is working properly, offering an enjoyable experience for music collectors.
Cons
- Frequent sign-out issues forcing users to log in repeatedly and experiencing login loops.
- Critical bugs causing app crashes, especially with the barcode scanner and collection loading.
- Key features such as collection, want list, and search functions often fail to load or work properly.
- Discography filters and sorting features are broken or missing, reducing usability significantly.
- Poor customer support with unaddressed shipping settings and account issues.
- App often freezes, fails to load content, or crashes during routine use.
- Authentication and 2FA processes are problematic and prevent successful login for many users.

Has huge potential to be an amazing app when it actually works. Won't let me stay signed in on my phone and is huge pain to get back into every single time. Seriously infuriating because it could be so good. Please fix this app because it could be great. Edit: still awful after all this time. Really sucks because it could be great but whoever makes the app seems to not care at all about the people that use it. I deleted it and I'll never use it again or recommend it to anyone.

Unusable since the major version change and subsequent minor updates. Scanner crashes the app immediately. Most albums do not display images and pressing details in app, but show just fine in the web interface. Things were finally very functional on the old style version. I am baffled at the critical bugs in the app. Completely broken.
