User reviews
Monster City Merge offers simple and fun gameplay with appealing graphics that engage players initially. However, many users report game-breaking bugs after early levels (around level 2-4) causing crashes and inability to progress. The frequent mandatory ads severely impact the playing experience, and the game requires constant internet connection. Monster evolution stagnates after a point, diminishing long-term appeal. Despite these issues, players appreciate the graphics, animations, and initial gameplay, hoping for bug fixes and improvements.
Pros
- Good gameplay and simple mechanics that are enjoyable initially.
- Beautiful graphics and mesmerizing animations.
- Ads can be skipped and are sometimes short, offering in-game rewards if watched.
- The game is a good time killer when it works properly.
- Some players find the music non-annoying and the gameplay engaging at the start.
Cons
- Game crashes or becomes unresponsive after level 2-4, preventing progression.
- Excessive and frequent forced ads disrupt gameplay significantly.
- Game requires WiFi; it won't work offline which frustrates some users.
- No continued evolution of monsters after a point, limiting long-term interest.
- Some control and coding issues lead to glitches and exploits.

Good gameplay. But can't progress beyond level 2. Level 3 seems broken.

Game is rather fun however it crashes after level 6 with no way to move on or exit the level. There is a forced ad break approximately every 15 monster purchase/merge moves which is skippable. Not much skill involved, lots of additional skills usable by watching ads. Good time waster if the bug which is causing it to crash is fixed.
