Really cute and helpful app to get you started on Chinese tones. The complete Pinyin chart is very useful. I would love an extra mode where you have to select between just the basic four tones.

Good for beginners, to practice pinyin and tones. Easy to use. Free. It has adds, but they are not intrusive (never fullscreen). Wouldn't mind a pro version without adds.

The practical exercises are really really nicely chosen, since they really make you compare and choose between similar sounding tones and syllables (eg. ci//chi or lian/liang) compared to other apps with randomly chosen comparisons (eg. chi//pang and bo//mang) which are rather useless. BUT: The sound quality of the recorded audio is really really bad and that's one of the crucial parts for learning Pinyin. 😔
