Unique. It not only carries a few interesting channels of its own but can also be populated with channels from some other services to which you subscribe, e.g. Sling, making it a very convenient all-on-one app. It also is unique in allowing the subscriber to add their own channels if the subscriber can obtain the correct direct URL for that stream. I've already added a dozen of those!

On Android TV DVR is still very buggy, almost unusable. Restarting a recording where I left off causes the app to clock indefinately, you have to quit the app to make it work again. Commercials on recorded shows repeat or partially repeat over and over. Recorded shows randomly start over during playback. I'll keep using it for the Spectrum access, but right now it's not worth more than than the $5 monthly charge.
